Bought a new truck (F-150)

Hey y'all (I'm a redneck now)

I just bought a 1995 F-150 short box. The thing is sweet: 114,000km's, 4x4, is super clean and runs perfectly! Plus the price was VERY good! It should be perfect for getting me onto the job sites and up rough logging roads...I think I want to get some more aggressive tires though. 31 inch BFG All Terrian TA's maybe.

I plan to keep her for a year or so and then hopefully if the budget allows, pick up a new Dodge or Chev.

Question: I want to get a soft touno (sp?) cover for the bed...where is the best place to get one? How much am I looking at spending?

ciao

Andy

Congrats I would suggest checking out e-bay for the cover. It should be a very straight forward install.

Now you'll need a light bar and/or a winch, with a few dents in the body(or paint one panel with a spray bomb). A loud exhaust or no exhaust(even beter) helps. Remember the goal is to spend more on the drive line than anything else.

Expect to pay a few hunderd $$$ for a cheap torno

Don't forget the GUN RACK and the 93.7 JRFM bumper sticker.

congrats!!

I would stay clear of the Dodge trucks, for now anyway. Pretty much all the newer ones from 94 to now have bad front ends. Its almost like a switch! Right around 100,000km's the front end starts to break down. Looking at anywere from $1000-$2000. Not pretty every 100,000km's. My brother-in-law works for Fountain Tire in Port Kells... I trust what he tells me, especially with the amount of trucks he works on.

I also heard the new 4X4 Dodges always pull to the right when braking, aparently its got to do with some shimming at the transfer box or something that after a few thousand clicks she goes, Dodge has a repair kit you can buy but aparently it makes it worse LOL.

That's a big ten four trucker buddy and a tonneau cover will look cool and it's a great way to hide stuff.

That's normaly with all full size trucks. Some last more some last less. It depends on the driving habits, tire size, road condisions and a bunch of other stuff.
