actually Shauns car always seemed to be in good shape exterior wise. I am just speaking on my past history with vehicles when they hit the loss of profit situation they usually don't get better.

Another choise could be the new dodge truck with the viper engine and trany 500+ hp 500+rwtq

 

Well I have spent about $3,000 the last 2 years. New shocks, new clutch, alternator, battery, tires, radio and speakers - which I can take out - muffler. About 4 years ago I replaced the front axles but the CV joints are starting to grind again so that may be another problem in the future.

As Steve says, you start running into an issue of costing as much to keep on the road as buying a new one with a 5 year warranty. With a new car at least I know for sure how much it is going to cost, with the Probe, you never know what is next.

In addition the car has been in three accidents - none of them my fault - and one of them was fairly serious. $9,000 in work. The repair job was poor and things are not perfect.

The power window is broken. So is the power antenna. The exhaust needs some money spent on it soon. Needs a new rear wiper arm. Also there is a leak from the ABS unit. I have a used replacement but for now I fill it up fluid every couple of months. Of course the question is always, what next.

Given that the TA is no longer reliable I guess my backup car needs to be reliable.

Mike: I'll prolly try to sell it as is and failing any nibbles, I'll get the gasket done with you one Staurday. I found out that the shop time is 8.5 hours so that is not too bad. Assuming I don't run into more trouble.

Steve: Is it possable to get turbo kits for the Sunfire. Hmmmmmm.

 

i dunno about turbos for them but they have roots superchargers for them

 

yes there is a few kits for them now since they are racing in the import series.

Listed at $16,721. They have a discount for this and discount for that and special "dial and win" promotion minimum $1500 rebate - possibly more. blah blah blah.

Drive it off the lot, taxes INCLUDED for .............$13,310.

CANNOT beat that.
