best way to sell a car?

i know some on here have recently sold cars... whats the best cost effective way.

i'm in no rush to sell my car, but would prefer to start offering it up for sale now. however, it is a v6, whcih means its not really for a 'performace' minded person.

so my thoughts are:

craigslist = free!
buysell.ca or autotrader.ca - which is better/bigger audience...

thanks for any input... i think newspapers are a little dated now, as most ppl look online for used cars... but any input is appreciated!

Got a Revscene account? I can put it up on mine and people will PM you and eventually somebody will come look @ it and scoop it up. I sold your last car didn't I?

good luck but remember that a lot of people on that site are severely immature.

thanks man, put ur green one in there, with lots of pics - i swear it'll sell well, i had tonnes of calls (although lots of people make a time to come and don't turn up - typical classless white trash )

i got $8,800 for it, fyi... so your $7,500 is a very fair price

Re: best way to sell a car?

Re: people phoning, making an appointment to see the car, and then not showing up; that was my main complaint about the buy&sell experience. That and people showing up who obviously had no money to buy the car, and just wanted to talk (and talk and talk) about it.

One idiot came to see my 2000 Camaro SS, and told me he specifically wanted a Camaro "without Onstar" so that he could outrun the police. According to him, the Camaros with Onstar could be disabled by the police electronically, so they could be shut down by remote control, making them useless as getaway vehicles. He came (and left) on the bus.

He also told me he was in the market for Vipers and Lamborghinis too.

(I didnt bother to tell him no Camaro ever came with Onstar, and that his remote control shut off story was nonsense).

Re: best way to sell a car?

I sold my firebird twice i just put it on this co-sign lot and let it sit...on the hot days i got calls...when it was cold no interest at all....first buyer made 3 payments then went to jail and told me where to find the keys at and said it was his loss...so i got 750 for him to rent my car for 3 months basically...now i have it for sale again and it sold last night for the same price i had it at before...worked out kinda nice.
