This thing is falling apart

I disagree with you. The executive members have been trying to get this off the ground for over a year...we have spent countless hours and money out of our pockets to get this team going. I know I do my part "volunteering" and I don't even own an F-Body anymore (that's about to change BTW).

Sandeep himself admitted that he didn't give enough notice to plan this (go back and read the first post if you don't beleive me ) and he has had a rough couple of weeks...I don't blame him and neither should you. It was WAY too short of notice...I along with the majority of people on this board probably had prior engagements to attend to.

Starting an organization like this takes blood, guts, and sweat among other things...I hate how hyporcritical detractors come to meetings, often get a free/cheap meal, don't pay the club fees, keep their mouths shut in person, yet think that they can play superhero when hiding behind an internet connection.

I'm not saying that this is perfect by any means, and there has and continues to be a lot of miscommunication. BUT we HAVE led by example for the most part.

I'd be happy to debate this at the next meeting...but I have a feeling that no one will say **** then .

Sorry for the rant.

Ollie, although your enthusiam is genuine please consider leading by example. Meaning, feel free to also join the ranks of those who are trying to organize. I know that you attend nearly all organized events, but it also requires folks that get the ball rolling.

My recollection is that few people jumped up when the opportunity to replace Mike P came up.

I definitely admire the guys who show up all the time. Ollie is always ready to show up (as do others) - so he has the right to speak his mind, IMO. And he does have a point... we pretty much all stated a long time ago that we would all meet on the last sunday of each month. That has not been changed - if so, no one told me.

I've been working hard too. Probably in excess of 80 hour work weeks right now and I haven't been home many nights as a result. But I knew a month ago that I was to keep Sunday morning open. Its not that hard to do. 4 little hours is all it takes to show up. If I can do it, anyone can. And I also have time to lead a personal life too...

Guys, quit yapping and just show up.

If its too rough on people, then let's do what I suggested before. Meet every 2 months only. Thats fine by me. ?

I never said that. My post was NOT directed at you...I know for a fact that you do your part to help out, etc. I was merely stating that *many* people like to complain yet they refuse to contribute. That makes them apart of the problem, NOT the solution IMO. Sorry Ollie if you took my words personally as I was speaking in a broader sense.

If you still have issues in regards to how I stand about things, lets take it offline. You are a valued member of our Team, even though you drive a purple Camaro .

I need to apologize for not letting you guys know I could not attend. However, Chris makes a point, I too book the last Sunday of the month for a couple of hours as a habit.

That being said, I - and the other excutives - have to take responsability to ensure that there is 'value' to the meetings.

We are all experiencing growing pains. Most of us genuinely want to be part of a club, however some of us don't want to put the work in for it. And IMHO that is fine. It happens to everyone. Some of us may be to busy, or just plain lazy. It doesn't matter because we shoould all learn from this. This is how a succesful club canbe built. "Rome wasn't built in a day"
Anyways, my fault on the short notice for the meet. I did have all month, but simply forgot in my busy schedule . No excuses, because regardless of the fact when I found out about the show, I should have had something planned regardless. The show should have been secondary.
Beleive it or not, but when Mike left and we needed someone, I hesitated to volunteer. Why because I knew I would be busy, and I didn't want to be responsible for something like this happening. No-one stepped up to the plate when the time arose, and I as a member, didn't want to see the club drift into oblivion. That is why I volunteered. You guys don't know the crap I got in when I told my wife I was orgainzing the monthly events She was pissed that I would be spending even more time on my car or regarding my car. Oh well.... that's life.
So I do appreciate people understanding my schedule, however, I am to blame for not having anything orgaized earlier. I will graciously accept blame for that. BUT, like it was pointed out earlier in this post by Chris, we all know the last Sunday of every month is for the club. That should be enough warnig for everyone to leave it open. There should be no excuses when it comes to that.
I will be making a post today about August meeting. Hopefully this will be a little better!
