Autox on Sunday, Aug 10th
Hi everyone,
UBC is hosting a closed club event on the 10th. You can join the at the event for $20 - the race itself is $20 after that. If you join now your membership will only last till the end of August so keep that in mind (there should be 1 or 2 more events in that time).
visit this thread to pre-register. If you do not pre-reg, you may have to wait outside the gates until they can fit you in.

You do not need to have a helmet since they have loaners.
I will be there if the weather is good!

I just went to the site and this is waht it says Todd:
Todd 93 corvette (the mighty vette)- fastest time: 49.603 clean
Mike 95 camaro (lowly camaro)- fastest time : 49.07 clean
I'm talking CLEAN runs as in no cones. You ran a 47xx but I can waste half the cones and do that too

Look at the results for that race. I had a better clean run than you. My time was 49.07 and yours was....slower, check it out.

Well another Auto-X comes an goes with next to no participation from f-bodies. There were 51 cars there including 2 mustangs, 2 Ford Focus' and that was it for domestic's. Miata's were most common and they were indeed quick. Lap times were about 57 seconds. i had 9 runs and I'm not sure my fastest time but I think it was 62 sec's. However, I hit a TON of cones. One run was nine and another 7. Need to work on that.
The weather was fabulous. Cloudy and cool in the morning getting sunny and warmer with a nice breeze in the afternoon, perfect in fact. I arrived at 8.00 and racing started about 9.00. There were three groups and it took a little over an hour to get through a group
I have the car on video and it is fun to see and hear the car run around. The power, of course, can really get the car squirelly, but I only screwed up once and that was because I drifted to far and missed a cone. In fact the last two runs I got the feel for the long sweeping turn at the end and was able to get a nice controlled drift all the way around. That was a hoot, a great feeling. The cost was $20 for a membership - and it is good until August 2004, and $20 to run. A great value when compared to MRP.
No I must confess to only having gone once this season and twice last season, but why BCTFB cannot get a turnout for these events remains a complete mystery for me.

Its sooooo fun and I love it but it just BEATS THE **** outa my car . I mean my tires were CHEWED . I think I might rent a budget car and do it , sunfires are 30 $ for the day . Rip out the back seat , floor mats , air cleaner etc . Add in a 15 $ deluxe sticker package from mopac and your all set for the day
Seriously I get the guilt after Ax . My poor car
