Yup, used to do it almost every other weekend in the summers. Great fun, they aren't the best cars around corners, but it sure is fun pretending like they are!

Actually, with a lil bit of prep, and an awesome driver, thse cars can be very competative in Autox.. just look at the Fstock times in SCCA Nationals.. If you want expert help on setup, ask Sam Strano.. He races in SCCA Nats, in F-bod's and alot of other different cars..

But yea, it is very frustrating to see a "slow" car lop 5 seconds off your best time.. Its even more humbling to have someone lop 5 seconds off your time, simply thru driver skill.. Thats like getting a 14.0 on the drag strip, and someone else in the same exact car get 13.0

Locally in Salem, there's these two 3rd gen F-bods that show up, completly setup for competition, riding on slicks, and they beat everyone out there.. They dive in and leap out of corners like nobody's business!

True dat, but in stock (or close to it) form they leave a little to be desired, although better than most cars in stock trim as well. But yeah, setup correctly, they can snake through the twisties with the best of 'em

I couldn't make it, too much homework. It sounds like it was an awesome day, for weather and the course.

I knew you would get hooked!

I'll be doing some next season in my 3rd. gen. It's pretty popular around here. I have a buddy who's a fanatic. He has a very competitive 89 1LE car. BCMA and VCMC are the two biggest clubs around the area and both have web sites.

Yo Amit, I'm interested in Auto Xing my firehawk with the bilstein racing package. Give me some info please and blue 79 are they building a circuit in Merrit? I drive through there every summer on the way to Kelowna. Looks like I'll be making stop-overs on a regular basis.

Are you going Amit? I'm off on the 9th so maybe we can meet up and cruise there together, weather permitting of course. Send me a pm and we'll exchange numbers. Sounds like we need a lot more f-body support there.
