August.6th - Mission Raceway Park - Street Legals
Re: August.6th - Mission Raceway Park - Street Legals
Dave, see if you can beat my 12.85@ 122
.
If the new NHRA rules allowing "Stock" verts to run 11.50 without a rollbar are in effect, I will probably race

I did a 12.878 @ 117.12 last year with a 2.251 60
Re: August.6th - Mission Raceway Park - Street Legals
This rule doesn't include verts...only hard tops.
I should be there racing my TA....although I maynot have the slicks mounted by then. Hopefully though

EDIT: straight from the NHRA site - they specifically use a vert in an example. http://nhra.com/2004/news/june/062202.html
Mike, you might be out of luck with headers, but maybe that is allowed (as part of the exhaust)

Re: August.6th - Mission Raceway Park - Street Legals
Maybe headers would be considered "competition" exhaust. I will eventually put in a roll bar but the rule change could get me on the track a little sooner.

Nope . . If you read further it says ( exhaust must exit behind the vehicle yadda yadda ) etc and the car must not have a power adder it didnt have when it was new .
Re: August.6th - Mission Raceway Park - Street Legals
I assume reading the article fully now that adding a cam, etc... or any "performance hardware" puts you immediately in the ET Street section and no longer valid for the pure stock 11.50s. That's how it reads to me, though it is a little grey.
I don't know how they would rate an upgraded pulley - is that not performance hardware? Hope not.
