Anybody watch Rides Last night???

They were building a 66 Toranado for Jay Leno to be revealed at Sema. GM gave him a twin turbo LS7 from the new unreleased Z06 that makes over 1000hp!!!!!!!! The Chassis was fabricated from two stripped down C6's!!!!

I watched that one. Could Jay Leno have picked an uglier car to do that to? Then he kept going on and on about how nice the lines are on the Toranado's and that it was designed with "real" designers that went to school for design blah blah blah.... He then procedes to de-credit hotrodders saying that anything that's been chopped or slammed rolling on 20" rims just looks like hell, lol,,, what fricken tool..... Go buy another 1932 Bentley Jay, and leave the real car building to people who know what they're doing like Chip Foose and Troy Trepanier and many others.....<sp>?

The ONLY cool thing that car had going for it was the twin turbo'd LS1.

All that power and they put crappy tires on it, useless. Hell, most of us can't get 400hp to the ground below 100km/h without worrying about the tires breaking loose, imagine how hopeless it would be if we had some old school pucks and twice the horsepower.

Give the motor to someone that can use it!!!!

That is EXACTLY what I thought. I think the car is plain ugly.

Well you are 100% right, still doesn't matter. That car is just plain FUGLY in my opinion, what a waste of money.

You guys have to look at it this way, he has enough money so that when he get's an idea and thinks "hey i wonder how that would be...." he has enough $$$ to throw away and try it, that engine set-up is sick and to drop it in a car that looks all original I think it is pretty slick.

LOL,,, there's a reason nobody tricks out a Toranado man.....

Originallity does not always = cool

I could put a twin turbo'd LS1 in a 1976 Pacer and it would be original as hell, but it would have about the same appeal as Jays Toranado in my book.....

Hell, a 1966 Caddy would've been waaaaay more appealing and original.

Just my .02

Well I liked it all save the wheels. I think a nice set of wheels would have brought it together.

BTW anyone notice the 4L65E being abused by that 1,000HP???

What a POS trans LOL
