95 SLP Firehawk
95 SLP Firehawk
A neighbor of mine is selling his 95 Firehawk. I haven't looked at it yet, but he told me it was "a numbered model with only 1000 of them made". Is this true? Also, is it true that the first few SLP models (Camaro and Firebird) were "hotter" than the rest in that they had taller cams, etc and then GM told them to "cut it out" as it was faster than a stock 'Vette?
It has 75K miles on it and he's asking $15K o.b.o. Is that a good deal?
I am hoping to get a look at the car and drive it tomorrow or Wednesday.

Re: 95 SLP Firehawk
The 1995 versions of the Firehawk were available with either 300 or 315 hp, and had optional chrome rims. All pre 1999 Firehawks were based on the Formula model. On the Firehawk, the suspension was upgraded, coupes received 17" wheels, special stainless steel tailpipe tips, special graphics, and a numbered dash plaque. A sport suspension and performance exhaust system were optional. Production for 1995 Firehawks was 684. Total Firehawk production from 1991-2002 was 5100.
