4th gen rear end

What's the width difference between a third and fourth gen rear?

I have a 3rd. gen with an aussie 9 bolt with 3:27's and there's hardly any gear selection for them. So i'm thinking about picking up a 3:45 or 3:73 gear 4th gen rear.

Anyone know of a good 4th gen rear for sale with the right gears?

Right on. Is there anything decent there, or would they have to be rebuilt? Any ideas what the gears are?

Re: 4th gen rear end

well, to answer ur main question, a 4th gen rear end is a lot wider than a 3rd get .. so if u make it fit, ur wheels will be sticking WAY out .. other than that .. the brakes u may not be able to use, you may have to get a 4th gen rear brake setup

Re: 4th gen rear end

but people have swapped em in on thirdgen.org so if you go with a 4th gen go look up the "how to" on that board.

Hey Stealthramman, let me know if you are getting rid of you 9bolt. I would be interested in taking it off your hands. Let me know if you would like to arrange something. Thanks
