Todd. once again you are wrong. Read the spec sheet if you don't believe me. The 03 vette is rated to 37 miles per gallon, my 02 hawk says 35 miles per gallon hwy right on the manufacturer's options print out sheet but you probably don't believe them either. Just add the bilstein shocks and you have the full bilstein racing suspension too, right. There are some of the smartest car guys here but you are not one of them. You must like the taste of your foot in your mouth.

I drove my 02 hawk to Seattle and back on one tank of gas after a fill-up in Blaine and only one car past me, a 2nd gen TA done up to the ****. We were waving and smiling passing all the cars on the 6-lane highway. I only use Chevron Premium plus gas but did need to refill in Blaine on the way back. I couldn't believe it, way under a tank to drive to Kelowna too. I drive pretty hard and get well over 350k's in a 60 litre tank.

In our tests, we averaged 18.6 mpg with V6/5-speed, 15.1 with V8/automatic, 14.7-16.2 with V8/6-speed. Test SS/manual coupe averaged 16.4 mpg. GM says all Camaro/Firebird engines will run on regular-grade fuel, but V8s produce peak horsepower on 93-octane premium.

Fuel economy is impressive: an estimated MPG 19 city, 28 highway with the optional six-speed manual transmission.(1)

1 Based on GM testing. Official EPA estimates not yet available.

Todd, is that your 93 or an 03 you checked out? I'm just going by the manufacturer's window sticker. If GM lies on those I guess I'm a little naive. It depends on how hard you drive, they must print the maximum mileage but your GM test is probably calculated at the track or city driving or something. Maybe someone else can help with the explanation? I calculate a 60 litre tank by 350k's converted into gallons and I'm getting just under 30 miles per gallon over the whole tank averaged out. :blah:

Ill chime in here. On a trip to Kelowna earlier this year I averaged 28mpg. Keep in mind the road is nothing even romotely close to a flat highway and the speedo didnt drop below 120kph.

Manufacturer's window stickers give you the estimated miles per gallon and what I say is not I looked at the new 03 vette last week and 37 mpg is the posted number and 35 mpg on my 02 hawk. After calculations my f-body is getting just under 30 mpg. Todd doesn't like me, he challenged me to a race then chickened out and another time talking about the bilstein suspension package he said all you need is the shocks. Sorry to stray away from the topic of the Chevelle, good luck with your next project.

STFU MY GOD!

this facking thread is about a god damn engine not about ur stupid gas milage, he already said that its not going to be a daily driver so gas milage doesn't matter, so really give it a brake!

The Chevelle gets my vote. The sound of a big HP big block is a religious experience.

Drumbhawk is correct , my window sticker is right here and states

22 mpg city / 35 mpg hwy

I get about 12 city / 12.9 hwy cause I like the go pedal more than the other features on the car
