New Z28 Owner
Hi Guys
I'm a Firebird fan that's recently bought a Z28 to play with. I've only ever owned V6 Firebirds which I love but always wanted a V8 and when one came up for sale at a nice price I had to buy it.
So far I've driven her around 1000 miles through 4 countries when picking her up and bringing her home. Unfortuneately I've not been out to play since then because of snow/salt on the roads so you can imagine how keen I am for Spring to arrive.
I hope to get more involved in the forum in the coming months. I'm not interested in making any modifications (unless I'm replacing a part anyway) because I don't get the impression that Camaros are that reliable. Hope I'm wrong because I don't fancy messing around with that LT1 lump
.
Bye for now

Welcome to the forum. I am a Firebird/trans am owner but have owned two Camaros myself. There isn't much of a difference between a Camaro and Firebird with the exception of changes in exterior and interior. Sometimes a engine change in certain models. My husband had a '95 Z28 with the LT1 and the car went 300k (we bought it at 70K) with the original engine, trannie, etc. The only things we replaced were the spark plugs/wires, engine seals (our LT1 liked to leak I have to admit), and the fuel pump. That car also spun out of control at 60 MPH (due to incorrect size of tires on the car and hitting a pot hole) and we were thrown backwards into a ditch and between two mesquite trees. Not only were we unhurt but the car drove home and two and half years after that. To say I hugged that car and thanked it for my life is a understatement. I hope this makes you feel at least a little better about your purchase. I do have to say that I haven't done any mods to mine either. My husband really didn't either because as you can see it was a work car.
