New, and looking for opinions
I used to have a 99 V6, but sold it. Now Im looking to step to a LS1 if the price it right. I found this for sale for $9,900. What do you think? here are the mods, are they good for a daily driver in the summer?
1999 Camaro Z28, t-top, auto, 80k miles, cloth, recently built ls1 -- GM hot cam, polished alum. Lingenfelter intake, ported & polished heads and throttle body, 1.7:1 roller rockers, 7.425 pushrods, PRC dual valve springs, Manley xh-426 valves, 42# injectors, Racetronix fuel pump, Kooks headers, SLP airbox, SLP 170 thermostat, SLP belt tensioner, 3" ehaust with Borla muffler, 2" Eibach lowering springs, 3" SS bolt on hood, 3.73 gears, tubular controll arms and panhard bar, strut brace, new O2 sensors, Corvette polished wheels with almost new drag radials in the rear and performance tires in front. Runs and drives great, no check engine light, very fast -- 450 rwhp and 20+ mpg. Interior and paint like new -- must see and drive. Over $10,000 in extras.
Its around $2,600 over book, so I would definitely not give him his asking price. He said that it is in excellent condition, and it looks clean, but has repainted. Does 450 RWHP sound realistic? because that would be around 500+ at the crank? It wont let me post pics, but here is some on photobucket(click prev to see the rest) http://m708.photobucket.com/albumvie...3XQjuP18i6jW1p
Thanks

Re: New, and looking for opinions
Welcome to the site.
I am very skeptical of the claimed 450hp with that cam and intake with no head specs.
As far as the price goes. If you were going to by a stock 99 then do even some of the mods to it you could be way over the $2600 above book. If you like the car take it to a competent mechanic and pay to have it inspected to make sure that it is put together right.

Welcome to the board. Have a good mechanic check the car out. By "good" I mean someone who understands these these cars, just just an average dealership tech... Selling a modified vehicle isn't easy and neither is buying one.
The bottom line is if you are comfortable that the price is fair for the vehicle, regardless of KBB or NADA, and the car checks out, then buy it and enjoy it.

Welcome. Once you find the right car and the right car finds you, let us know.
In the meantime, there is lots to be learned here to get prepared for when that happens!
