Bonjour à tous

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about buying a 1998 registered Z28 which is a 3.8 V6 rag top.

Before I commit myself to buying this car I'm trying to get some information on models etc. as I have read about these cars needing engine rebuilds with relatively low mileages.

What should I be looking for regarding problems?
Is the V8 or the V6 the better engine?
What tuning options are there for the engines, suspension and brakes on these cars?

Thanks in advance

Re: Bonjour à tous

Welcome to the board. There is a lot of good information in the tech forums. Personally I prefer a V8 in a Camaro, but I rented a late 90s Camaro on a business trip many years ago and found it to very responsive and well built. At the time I owned a Chrysler Sebring convertible and remember thinking the Camaro was better built than the Sebring. I am not aware of any specific issues with the V6 engine. With any used vehicle the key (in my opinion) is the condition of the vehicle and the care it has received over the years.
