95 white z28 in need of tips

Hello all I got a white z28 and I'm looking for some upgrades for it. I got a cai already but I need to know how to clean it ? I know I need to get the spray n stuff but how do I get the filters off. Also I was told it has a new computer in it, how can I verify this and can I make modifications for extra torque thru this ? It has a magnaflow exhaust with a y pipe at the catalytic converter, anyone know of some easy to install headers. I live n cali so whatever gets done I need to be able to pass smog. Thanx for ur guys time

First, welcome to the board. Get aquainted with it's features (especially the search feature) and alot of your questions can be answered easily. There are alot of knowledable people on this site.

CAI-Most aftermarket CAI filters slide onto the piping and are screwed down around the base of the filter. If you can't see the filter try looking from under the car.

Computer-You can get programmers to change the parameters or get a mail order tune. If he put a new computer in there it was most likely a direct replacement.

Headers-They are not the easiest to install on our cars. There are some people who can do it no problem, and some that it is difficult for. Living in CA you will need to keep your cats, so shorty headers are your best bet.
