2002 ss or 2001 ss or 1997 30th Anniversary
Hi guys
New to the site....soon be new Camaro owner here in Canada.
My choices are 1)2002 triple black ss convert with 18K miles with SLP performance pkg and ZR1 rims, 6speed...20,000 bucks
2) 2001 triple black ss convertible also with 18K miles..automatic...no visible SLP options like the 2002.....20,000 bucks
3) 1997 Z28 (not ss) 30th anniversary convert with 38k miles with 6 speed and houndstooth interior...white with orange stripes for 15,000 bucks.
I want a great driveable car that gives very little trouble and will hopefully go up in value.
Which should I go with......this will be my first camaro!!!
Thanks

Yeah they do seem overpriced...but....they are all unmolested one owner stock cars in absolute mint condition and it is in Canada where I am purchasing it. I know I can get cheaper in the US but this is the only route I can take now and compared to the rest of Canada they are priced fairly I believe.

Didn't know you where in Canada. I don't know how much the 4th gens go for over there so i couldn't tell you if they are good deals or not. If it were me I would probably go for the 1st choice.

hahahaha brain fart there all convertables how did i miss that lol get the triple black #1 with the zr1 rims
Hey guys....here's an update. I bought the 2001 ss convert automatic....I fell in love with this machine....it was well cared for and maintained....and can go in a car show right now. The 2002 6 speed with SLP options was driven hard for its 28000kms, ZR1 rims were destroyed with curb damage, leather seats almost worn through, and many rock chips and paint damage not picked up on in pics. The 1997 was amazing to drive...the pick up in a LT1 was crazy but it was showing its age and I wanted the Ls1 more anyways.
Proud to be a 4th gen ss owner. These cars are AWESOME to drive and endless mods available if I go that way. Right now its cool to have 100% stock unmodified machine.....but the more I read on these forums.......well you know the rest....lol

Sounds like you made the right choice for sure.
The LT1 has a lot more lower end grunt than the LS1, but the top end is where it is at.

A tip of the hat to you on a fine choice. Even though I own an LT1 car, there are few among us (other than the lost in space LT1 purists) that will argue for an LT vs LS. That said, you purchased the last of a breed for sure. The LS 4th gens have a ton of power in a relatively light chassis weighing in at around 3306 vs the 3750 of the 5th gen. And as a personal preference, I love the live axle vs IRS. Great buy, welcome to the board!
