Wheel Re-Finishers?

Can anyone recommend a wheel re-conditioner in the MA/CT area? What I am looking for is a company that can basically strip the factory clear coat off of my polished 2001 WS6 wheels, fix any imperfections/nicks/scratches in the surface, and high polish (and re-clear coat) or perhaps chrome (can aluminum be chromed?) . At this point I am just exploring my options and am looking to talk to someone re: pricing and turn around and such. I am debating whether or not to sell my wheels and buy new for the '05 season. It's not that I don't like these wheels, I would just like them freshened up a bit as when I bought them, they were not in "mint" condition and would like them to be as close to perfect as possible and high polished, if not chromed. Suggestions? Any ideas what it could/should cost? Thanks. -Jeff

hey man...actually it might be cheeper to buy from someone than to go through the hassle of getting the fixed up..I know you can get take off rims from SLP for less than 500 bucks..but I think chroming a wheel is like 100+ a wheel..and you can get rims for that brand new..

There are always places posted in the back of Motor Trend and C&D magazines that do wheel refinishing. "Wheels America" had an ad in the back of this months MT to rehab alloy wheels for $99/rim. So even if you don't find anyone local, I'm sure there are plenty of places you could ship your rims to.

I've seen what these guys can do first hand http://www.rimpro.com/ a buddy of mine got his wheels done there and they came out perfect. They can even do custom paint and stuff for them. I don't think they were that pricey but my buddy got them done with some custom stuff but i saw before and after and they did an awesome job.

When I bought my WS6 it had a bad vibration at 67 MPH & got worse as I went faster.
It was one of my rims.
For $125 they repaired & rebalanced it & I've had no problems.

The chrome plating is a bit expensive I think as compared to for example paying just a tad bit more to get Firehawk rims from SLP.
