Victim of the Blizzard

Well, I didn't escape the blizzard. Left work early(not early enough). Was travelling down 146. Came to the light in Sutton. Was coasting down the hill at less than 30. About 30 yds from the light it turned yellow. Applied the brakes and just kept sliding right thru the intersection. Guy on the right hand cross-street didn't look or hear my horn blaring. Ford Ranger spun me around. Passenger door: toast, rear quarter: toast.
Appraisal and check this morning: $3412. Add that to my $500 deductible 'cuz the ahole Sutton police gave me a $50 red light violation and we're talking almost $4k in f'n damage.
Might be time to trade the old girl in.

On the 18th of Jan I was creeping out because of snow banks and some 84 year old guy made no effort to avoid me in his $1500 car.....

*SMASH!*

Took off the front end, twisted the frame... Not fun. Luckily my hood and bumper had chipping paint already and I was going to have them repainted this spring anyway.

I talked to a local shop and bought the parts myself. With this cash i got all the parts, and THEN bought:
BMR convertible subframes
BMR strut brace
FF75 Low beams, FF75 high beams, still waiting on fogs though...
Sold my old exhaust for $300, then used an extra $300 for a Corsa Powerpulse
Still have $400, and several spare parts to sell. So the car will be better then before the accident. Only downside is my rates go up. Then I still have the $250 Deductible, so I have effectivly $650 left after buying those mods.

Rich,
Sorry to hear of your situation.

Sure your Z wasn't trying to commit suicide due to Uncle Rob's very stout dyno numbers

that was a brutal storm....a week ago there was about an inch or 2 of snow on the ground, i slid and nailed a snowbank and almost hit a mailbox. took my dad and i 4 hours to dig it out. luckily there is no damage (atleast none that i have come across).

then monday i was up in killington, vermont snowboarding. it took us 3 hours to get up there, but then it took us 6 to get home cuz of the storm. sum1 passed us going maybe 60 or 70 then a mile or 2 up the road he was flipped over in a gully. luckily we made it home safe and saw no bad accidents...we may b getting another storm sunday....drive safe....

take it easy every1,
jake

If I get rid of her, it'll be for a Hawk or WS6. LS1 of course.

I guess that sorta thing could happen to anyone. Hell, a few weeks ago I slid through a 4 way stop with my beater. Luckily there was noone around to even see it, forget smash up my beater.

Good luck with whatever you do from here.

It's going into the body shop March 3rd. It's not so bad, it's on the passenger side, so I can't see it, and it doesn't really affect the way it drives. I just can't open the passenger side door. My body man says it'll look better than new.

First incident in 25 years of driving in this crap....not bad.

You should be able to fight the ticket... "Act of God"

I was a victim too... I was stranded in Orlando for an extra 2 days after the Daytona 500.
