they found it

well I just got a call from Lowell PD telling me that they recovered my car

I haven't seen it yet, but I know that there is no steering wheel, reported damage to the steering column, and no stereo.

I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow and see if it even runs... I have a feeling that it overheated and they found it where it died. I'm not going to rebuild this thing another time, I'm gonna go through it and most likely part it out then junk the rest.

I don't know what I'm in for tomorrow but I'll let you know how it looks.....

Did you have insurance coverage to cover theft? I know that won't make everything better, but getting a check certainly helps!

no i don't have theft on it, so basically what I end up getting back will be the car and thats it. I'm going to check it out in a little bit and see how much stuff is missing from it, and if it still runs

Wow, that blows. Hopefully it's still driveable, maybe just a few little problems to iron out. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about the car Jay but glad you got it back.

This is the reason I put full covereage on all my cars.
Is theft and fire really that much more?

good luck
John

honestly i never thought that someone would even want to steal my car

i had it towed to hanscom today... i had to pay $105 to get it from the tow company, how much of a kick in the ***** is that huh

the steering column is pretty f*cked, they stole the steering wheel as well. trashed the console where the stereo was and stole my tach, sub, amp, head unit, all my tools and cds. i'm gonna disasseble it on thursday i think, i'm selling everything i can to try and make up some of the money

luckily my brother joined the air force and just bought a brand new gmc sonoma so i get to keep his caddy, 93 sedan deville..... such a step up from the camaro but i still miss my pos

Would it have been more cost effective to tell the towing company to keep it

So it gets stolen....and YOU have to pay to get it back. That IS a kick in the *****. I think I'd have to reach in the glovebox and pull out the MAC-10.

Hopefully you'll get a few bux back by selling off some parts.

i have the stock 85 Z28 rims on it, they are gold colored but i'm sure you could take the paint off them and put a coat of clear on or something

the rims are all very straight, not sure if they would fit correctly without backspacing of some sort but i could be wrong

$100 and they're yours
