Street Night Program
New England Dragway’s Street Night program is geared toward letting beginners enjoy the thrill of drag racing. It is also the perfect setting for the more experienced enthusiast who would like to test performance modifications. Newcomers should refer to the chapter about Drag Racing Basics for more detailed information about the structure of the quarter mile and preparing for that first run. Snowmobiles and Junior Dragsters may not compete on Wednesday Street Night, but may participate in the Friday Street Night program. Street Nights are open to both cars and motorcycles. Following are some basic rules, which must be adhered to. Additional information regarding safety requirements is contained elsewhere in this handbook, as well as the current IHRA Rule Book.
Cars & Trucks:
No slicks allowed. Street tires required (DOT Approved racing tires acceptable).
No bald tires allowed.
Open exhaust not allowed
Co-driver allowed in all vehicles running 14.00 seconds or slower
Seat belts are required
Overflow can for radiator
Battery hold down bracket
.500 Full Tree using manual start
Vehicles must comply with safety and equipment requirements as outlined by
the current IHRA Rule Book.
Vehicles must be street legal and able to pass state safety inspection.
Nitrous oxide permitted and must be installed according to the provisions
outlined in the current IHRA Rule Book.
Factory (OEM) installed computers allowed, but no lap top computers are allowed while in competition.
Valid state driver’s license required. Learner’s permits are not acceptable.
Helmets (Snell 90 or newer) required for all vehicles running 13.99 or quicker.
Drivers and co-drivers are required to wear long pants, a shirt, socks and shoes.

They will let you run a laptop but it needs to be secured somehow. reason being incase of a disaster it hits you in the head and knocks you out. they want it secured on a pedestal of some sort I seen them before in a couple cars at the track.

Time trials are not considered competition. They are referring to actual "race" conditions.
For example, I will be there on Sunday, no computers will be allowed in eliminations, but if you want to use them in time trials you can.

My Laptop is my datalogger, I shouldn't have to buy something extra to be legal!
Thats just DUMB.
Like NHRA and there stupid 11.99 rollbar rule. Ummm hello.. There are cars that run this fast now a-days.. This isn't 1955 anymore.
