Unfortunately your going to have to pull the transmission and inspect the disc, pp and flywheel and make sure all looks good.

I still aint selling it tho tsss no one would pay me much after driving the damn thing any ways.

I had a older 4x4 that the center section of the axle would rotate and change the pinion angle. took for ever to find that. check the rear axle to see if the tubes are broke off the center.

I fish out of provincetown but I've done some trips out of new bedford and have worked some other small harbors aswell. I got the job 3years ago from my buddy who quit to go run his own boat. theres all sorts of dif gigs you can do tho, lobstering, gill netting, fish dragging, rod & reel ****, oystering, quohoging...those are the easier and safer fisheries and its all steady money except for fish dragging and any rod & reel **** and lobstering is steady but is just a seasonal fishery. sea scalloping is what I do but I dont suggest getting into it, its dangerous, crazy workload & hours but im mainly suggesting you dont get into it cause the fishery is going under. sea clamming is what I'l be doing in the fall, the boat im on is selling its scalloping permits and is switching over. I hate sea clamming, your bent over most the day and its heavy work, im dreading going clamming actually but w/e its a way to make $4g-$5g a week with out going offshore for 12-14days on a big trip boat. if you really want a job just keep going around to different harbors with commercial fishing boats in it and hang around the docks till you see crew/captains/owners and ask if their looking for any help, if your persistant you'll eventually get a job somewhere. just be care stepping onto un-safe or improperly rigged boats..but being totally green your not likely going to know what to look for. and I nearly spaced on charter fishing boats, we at them but..you can make some good money there too and the work load is a joke

roadwarrior,
Too funny. I worked on a lobster boat off and on for 10 years. My father and family also unloaded dogfish boats. gillneters and longline for many years. He got his ice from Crystal Ice and sent the fish to Seatrade and Worldwide in New Bedforn. Im sure u know where those are. I also used to bait long lines for dogs and cod. That's was fun. haha

Good luck on the car
John

hell yeah! I have yet to fish for actual fish, maybe one of these days.. I was contemplating going fish dragging out of kodiak alaska last year but my capt wants me to take the helm in a year or 2 so I figure I might as well stick around.
NIICE car btw!

stop looking at the mounts--the rear end pushes up on the tranny when in forward gear so it is pushing tranny down onto cross member in reverse---
if it feels like wheel hop check if you twisted the rear end
if it feels like your getting spanked by your tranny then check clutch/tranny

what part of mass are you in

im way down on the cape in wellfleet.. if the axle was twisted wouldnt you feel some effects going forward too? theres definatly some serious wheel hop in reverse tho but not all the time, but like when im backing out of my dirt driveway if the wheels start to spin when releasing the clutch then the car shutters like crazy cause my axle is hopping so bad

i've only seen one twisted rear end----it made a horrible noise going one dirrection but not the other i think it was only in forward

i'm sure you could bend or twist it different ways depending on how you do it

the one i saw was done on a dyno

if you have stock suspension in rear there could be something out of alignment from when you snapped that bar my third gen had nasty wheel hop in reverse until i put all urithane bushings and tubular arms and panhard bar

it could be something as simple as that but don't go throwing parts in it unless you were gonna do them anyway

i'm in beverly and i have couple of buddies that have performance shop in salem(same one that owns ws-6 that twisted rear end) if you want i could give you their number and you could talk to them

sure shoot me the number, its a ways away but its prolly worth taking it there when the time comes the 'performance' shops around here -hell all the shops on the cape are a joke. im loosing my license for a year in a couple of days tho so...I'l have plenty of time and $ to figure this out and mod some more.
