questions

1.Is the dist removeable with the engine in place.
2.On your site there's some pic's of coils on the back of intake how did you make that or is that a kit from somewhere else.

That is the nicest set-up I've seen.

Umm kind of.
The motor stays on the k-memeber but you have to drop the k-member a bit for it to be removed? so six bolts and you can get to it and remove it.
to get the opti-spark off you need to drain coolant take water pump off and balancer off, then get new waterpump gaskets to put a new one on it.

But why would you want to remove it. you can change the cap and rotor with no problem with it in place.

Thats the beauty of this setup.

I love it.

I did have an LS1 coil pack setup on the car at first I didn't like it and the complexity of the system to make it work.

I went old school and went K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid)

>I don't mean to be noisey ... who am I kidding
What was the price (approx.) for the machine work for the intake manifold to convert it to the old type of distributor ? and did you kick the opti across the street when you fired up the new engine ?

I'm not sure if you will see an increase of power I haven't had it on the dyno to tune it yet.
But I did put it on the dyno and made a pull just to see if I noticed anything and the hp curve was a lot smoother after 5500 rpm. The opti would start to break up graph so did the ls1 coils after the dist install the curve was real smooth all the way to 6500.
