Just got a ticket-TOTAL BS

Gotta love driving a loud Z28..........I just got a ticket that is TOTAL BS. The citation is 'Fail to slow at an intersection,' and while it is a measely $35 fine, it's the 2 point increase on my insurance that pisses me off. So I'm obviously going to appeal it. Here's what happened. I was driving on rt. 111 in Acton (town next to mine) and was going to make a left at a light to turn onto rt. 27. I was going approximately 35mph (was a 30 zone) and dropped it into second, which made some noise (FLP's into GMMG), and then I drop it into 1st. I had a green arrow so I proceed to make my turn. There is a car in front of me, and behind me. As I was making the turn I see a cop to my right 4-5 cars deep (he had a red light). I take the turn at 15mph or so in 1st, which is a little loud and then accelerate and shift into 2nd at about 4k. I'm only going 30-35 mph in a 35 zone. Then I see the good old blues. I pull over and he comes over and says something to the effect of 'I caught you breaking tires and speeding through the intersection.' I say "there's no way I broke tires officer." He said 'you know what I mean.' Comes back and says 'I gave you a ticket for failing to slow at an intersection, I let the breaking tires and speeding go; feel free to appeal it.' WTF, it was total BS, and I had 2 people with me to prove it. There is no way he saw me even, he HEARD me. If he saw me he would have seen that I was between a camry and a pickup truck, which means there is no way that I didn't slow down. I'm so BS right now I can't believe it........Definitely gonna appeal.
Thanks for listening to my rant..........

Sounds like the typical a-hole that has nothing better to do than pull over loud Camaro's.

There's always bad ones that spoil a good group

Yeah, those small town cops are losers. I've been pulled over three times on rt2 between 495 and 128 inside of 18months. Only got a ticket once though. I get followed at least once a week going through their at 12:30am.

The worst thing about this is that even though there's no way I could have been doing what I was doing, I could still lose my appeal and he could get away with a total BS ticket. I'm debating writing a letter into the local paper blasting this guy.........or at least alert him to the fact that he was wrong in doing what he was did.

Sleeper..
do you know anyone in any police department? state or around acton?
they might help with a little..umm call..to plead your case

send a letter to his higher ups..maybe his chief..tell him your story..it might work..say a ticket like this would be something finacially troubling to you for something that you know that you didnt do..and thats why you obey the law knowing the car you have..
as long as you dont have tickets that is..

No tickets ever.........and like I said, the $35 isn't a big deal, the 2 point increase in my insurance is a big deal. I'm in graduate school and BARELY making ends meet (god bless student loans) and I really can't afford to take that insurance increase. I thin one way or another I'm gonna say something to someone, be it his supervisor or the whole community, I hate injustices.

thats what I meant..if you got a good driving record..and financial worries for insurance going up..thats all you need to send him in the letter...pleade your case..and have you friends in the car state that the car had problems ..I dont know lie to them if it gets to the court hearing...
actually if its in Concord..just plead with them that it is very likley that you will loose your car if your insuracne goes up...

Car had problems like what? Big freakin holes in the exhaust, lol? TB gets stuck open sometimes? lol, j/k. I know the Sargeant in the Boxboro PD (town next to Acton) and I used to work with the daughter of the Acton (cop that ticketed me) PD sargeant. If my insurance goes up I will CERTAINLY have to pull the Z off. I hate this sh*t.........

>I always tell the guys to fight your ticket (appeal it) , since this could happen : like the judge magistrate not making it and them cancelling all civil matters .
Also use the "never receive a ticket in my driving career" plead and they may drop this (of course they will check) .
when you go into the court room ensure that you have enough information to back your case (i.e. pics of intersection , road conditions , weather condition , cost of tires , witnesses , etc.) if you can show up with enough proof showing that you wouldn't even attempt to do something so foolish with the cost of your tires and with full knowledge of a police cruiser being within close proximity of the incident ... then maybe they will dismiss this case .
BTW worked for me a few years ago , but the state does need the money $$$ !

Haha, yeah, I tried to date her, but she was a college gal, wasn't having any of this HS punk, lol. Would you guys actually recommend contacting the chief or newspaper? Or just try and settle it in court. I'm pretty sure this cop knew it was BS.........

Here's the law I was cited for breaking..........Can anyone tell me what part I violated? Remember, I was cited for failing to slow at an intersection, where does it say that I even need to slow down here? Basically, from what I get, it says I have to yeild and stay in my lane, which I did, considering I had a green arrow......There is some very vague explanantion of slowing down, but nothing really explicit.

Just waiting to hear back on the court date. Not much else I can do right now, just planning my attack I suppose.
