Yes, i have an m6 so its the switch i am hopeing and nothing more. Knock sensor wont cost $20 bucks since i have to go through manifold etc to get to it which is a PITA and i am not even sure if the sensor is faulty (i had it scanned and my mechanic said the sensor was working properly which makes me think its an electrical problem) The check valve code i got is due to low amperage somewhere along the line which means more electrical work. The o2 i will give you is prob the cheapest fix.

I am just anticipateing 1-200 for the tranny switch, 2-300 for the knock sensor another 1-200 for the secondary air. So you figure worst case senario in each would total 700 bucks. I would have to take it to a dealer since my mechanic cant do alot with the SES codes.

Myth, Inspection stickers will be tied into your registration.
If you get caught with a sticker that does not match your car? 50.00 fine, cop peels the sticker off on scene and explanation to the magistrate why.
My friend has a car that has not been inspected since purchase (3 years ago) and still his registration and insurance lives on, But I do not condone anything illegal.

Yeah i dont have the tools or the know how to do all that stuff. I mean i have a write up on how to change out the knock sensor but it looks like a PITA. I have no idea how to change out the tranny switch and yet again no idea what the secondary air injection solenoid circuit means. So its off to the dealer it goes.

Also i found out that yes it is tied into the mass registry when a cop runs your plate. He can get the date it was inspected the location, and pretty much everything that the RMV has on you. So looks like i get to suck it up and get this car done legit

I usually get the haynes manual once I get a car, its helpful if you don't know something. Then theres always autozone to get codes and clear them. Thats what I do.

that is a huge mistake to try and put a sticker on another car. They will give you a nice fine for that one. It is tied to your registration and cops CAN tell that the car hasnt been inspected just by running your plate.

The state WAS planning on revoking peoples registrations if they didnt get their car inspected. But that plan is on hold right now for due to complications and people complaining about it.

In Short dont do it, its really not worth the trouble you will get into. and depdnignon which shop you take it to, they may not even check the reverse lights even though they are supposed to. Since your car is newer some shops will just assume everything works.

another option would be to get your 02 sensors and AIR system deleted from your computer with LS-1 edit. then they will not throw codes, and your car will pass. Its probably also cheaper then 800 $ to get that done.
