Post Hey Jay... Or anyone need a Free 4X4 Jeep?

Jay,

I have an 85 Jeep Cherokee, its a very nice looking Jeep that needs a Clutch. Its 4X4, has a CD has American Racing wheels on it.

Perfect Winter Car. I need to get rid of it as I dont have a place to keep it and no time to fix it. Its sitting at my parents house and they want it outa there. I just did exhaust, Cat, New rotors, calipers, lines and pads about 5K ago. Recent Tune up. Has like 145K on it.

Its Free if you come tow it. Title is Clean. Its probably worth $1500 bucks.

If Jay doesnt want it, Its open to the first person after he says No thats interested. Its located in Tewksbury Mass.

I am looking for some type of 4wd winter beater.

If Jay takes a pass on it, I'd like to hop in line.

How much does a new clutch cost?

wow Mike thanks
I'd definately be interested in grabbing that for a winter car.

I'm leaving today for the weekend so I won't be around till Sunday night, I'm assuming that they want it out sooner rather than later so when would be a good time you think?

How bad is the clutch? Is this the kind of thing that I could toss my plates on it and limp it home or does it definately need to be trailered?

I really appreciate this, I'll talk to you more when I get home

Jay,

The jeep is yours if you want it. I can wait till next week, but the sooner the better.

It does need to be towed. I let my brother have it as he got his license about 6 months ago and the clutch is totally shot.

Its in really nice shape for being an 85. Its been repainted and has CD.

Let me know when you want to get it, Ill dig out the title.

If Jay doesnt step up soon then its yours. A new clutch I think is about $125 bucks and then you need to put it in. Its 4WD which means the transfer case has to come out and all that fun stuff. (Not Fun)

yeah I'm still here, sorry I've been wicked busy

I'm definately interested..... I'm moving into school this weekend so the earliest I could come get it would be next weekend. I'll talk to you on aim and we can get specifics as to when the two of us can meet up.

oh yeah, does this have the 4 cylinder or the 6? I was looking to see if auto zone has the clutch set for this and I didn't know which one to order.
