GBelli is "Da Bomb" !

Yesterday Greg drove all the way to the Great White North to install my opti. I had lined up someone to come over after work last night to help but when Greg made his offer I figured better safe than sorry and I think I made the right choice as we were done and all on the way home by 8:00 or a little after last night.

I was very impressed. Greg showed up with tools, ready to work, and knew what he was doing. I'm the type of guy who knows generally what to be done but somehow my brain has a disconnect to my hands. Greg had the opti out and my wife was exchanging it by the time my other helper showed up.

This too was a good thing because Charlie, who works at the Chevy dealer, rebuilt the expensive cable from the opti to the harness while Greg finished up the re-installation.

After starting it up I nlticed it was not charging, and sure enough I had left the alternator feed off the battery when I cleaned the connections last week.

So THANK YOU! Coming all the way north, doing mopst of the work, and being a great guy on top is far above the call of duty. I didn't even have a chance to buy dinner. Next time. Maybe we can hit a decent steakhouse down in your neighborhood...

Sounds like a good excuse to get together at Tens and put a few ones down in Greg's honor

Just to be safe I had AAA take me down to Epping today. Made it to the car show on time. Drove to the track with no problem. Got some ends for the battery cable and will try that tomorrow to correct the voltage issue. Everything works.

I have a great pit by Mickey Thompson!

Re: GBelli is "Da Bomb" !

Found a bad wire underneath. It was a power feed going to the alternator. With some tape, a new piece of wire, and a sleeve I changed it and the car runs much smoother. However the transmission isn't right. This three gears available is slipping. I need to change it back to four. I am printing out directions from TCI and will see if I can figure it out tomorrow. Basically the car slo shifts into third... Almost bog.... Best was a 12.40 at 107 today.
