Post BAD service at Tom chevrolet in norwood ma.

Last week i needed to get a front end alignment for my car. Tom's chevy has the newer system where they mount the machine on the tire instead of the rim. (i have chrome rims did not want them scratched). so i was willing to spend the $70.

so i went down there and they could not do it but they could do it the following monday. so i told the guy my car is lowered and has an inner cooler on it can you pls check first to make sure you can still do it. I asked him at least 6 times repeatedly. they said no it will be no problem we do zo6 all the time and they are lower than your car. i said pls just look at. i dont want to waste our time ( my car was parked right in front of the door about 10 feet away) he did not want to look at it he assured me they could do it.

so i go down there on my schedule appoint on my lunch break monday at noon.

first the guy tells me the machine may not work. it really has not been working for a while.

im a little upset since i waited a week to get an alignment i wasted my lunch break to go there and now they tell me its not working.

i ask him. why did you waste my time. you should have called me, you have my number you should have called and told me the machine was not working correctly so i would make an appointment somewhere else.
besides i find it hard to believe you only have 1 alignment machine in your whole dealership?

now he says well maybe it will work lets try. i reminded him i have an inner cooler on the botton of the car. (he never told the mechanic)

i watched him pull my car in and he did not check the clearance. luckily i got another guys attention to tell him to stop. now they are looking at it trying to figure out how they are going to get it on the left. (its very easy put a couple of boards before the ramp so it goes up a little more gradual. you dont have to be a brain surgen to figure this out)

so about 4 or 5 guys are standing there scratching there heads on what to do... so they pull my car out and call me to the front desk.

they have the ***** to lie to me and say the machine wasnt working and they couldnt do it. i told the guy i watched them do it. they never put the machine on it.

then he says my car is to low. i stated to him when i was here a week ago you guranteed me you could do it. i asked six times to look at my car and you wouldnt.

then i even tried to explain to him to put a few boards down but it just would not register.

then i asked to speak to the manger and stated my case to him and he looked at me and said

im sory and thats it.

he did not offer to come back and we will do your alignment for free or half price for your inconvience not even a free oil change. so i asked for his business car and the number for gm complaint center.

when i got back to work i called them and they were no help at all either. im very disapointed in gm service.

i went to NTB in newton later that day. they took me right in and had no problems doing it. they charged me 59.95 and i watched the guy do it. he was very careful and spent a good amount of time dialing in the front end. its amazing that NTB can do it but a GM dealership could not.

O' I forgot to mention before i left i called them a bunch of hackers in front of there customers because I was so mad.

I hear yah on that. Alot of the chevy dealers suck around here. Plus they have people working on the cars that have no clue about these cars at all. Stay away from the parts counter at Toms chevy also they are *******s.

Glad to hear you got your car alignment. Also how is the car doing with the new motor? Are you going to K2U or the dyno day coming up?

>I'm sorry to hear that Dennis ,
I will probably be home soon (so I can leave again in a few weeks) and start working on the Camaro ... there are a lot of good front end shops here in western Massachusetts . So how do you like driving that "beast" ? and how does it compare to the "Stang" ?
Later ...
stay safe

andre, I HOPE everything is well for you where ever you are....

chevy94, I hate to say it. i like the mustang better. mostly because its alot lighter i think and its smaller and you feel like your in a drag car. the 2 cars are so different. they are a different type of fast. the mustang is very quick and the blower comes in quick. the camaro is faster at higher rpms and has much more torque.

the fuel curves are slightly off so im going to see one of my friends who has a dyno in fall river within the next week and get a print out and send the computer back to ed wright for some minor changes. then in august i plan on going to deans for his dyno day. hopefully this will help a little.

the high heat does make a big difference on the camaro. when its in the 60-70 it is fastttt and when its in the 90's the car is a dog. at last when i dyno it I will have some baseline numbers and i will let you know. i think the car really needs a bigger blower. for a 350 its probably fine but with the 383 you lose some boost so you need more.

unfortunately i will probably not buy a bigger blower. i want to buy a house in the next 2 years and we all know how expensive it is in boston. you cant get crap for under 450,000 unless its a condo.

I wouldnt ever let a dealer put air in my tires.

There are TONS of places with computerized alignment racks, why get ripped off by the dealer?
