It was a 30th anniversary. He was doing burnouts in the mall parking lot . I followed him through the lot in my buick until he parked. I motioned him to roll his window down so we can talk. It sounded sweet! He said it only had a catback and it was an LT4 from a vette. He had the triple gauge pod. He says he has gone to the track and with only a 75hp shot of juice he ran 12.2 @ 116mph . Sounds damn fishy to me. Anyone know this guy?

 

Not sure if it is the same guy but there is a guy from i believe acushnet with a 97 not an lt4 and he has exhaust cai and he runs a 175 shot sounds like the same guy to me.

 

Yeah, he said the LT1 blew and an LT4 from a vette was transplanted. It sounded meaner than a normal LT1 with a catback. He did say a 75 shot, unless I misheard him. He says he is ordering an ATI DS1C (or whatever model has 12-15psi). I said your gonna blow the bottom end, and he laughed and said it will give him a reason to build a stroker.

Ya i know him, hes from lakeville, and it is a bone stock LT1 he had his last one replaced by the dealership when he blew it up. All he has is SLP loud mouth and that Nitrous, I raced him the night he put on the Loud mouth and put 4 cars on him by 100mph so even with the nitrous i wouldn't worry......PS if you see some kid running around purging his nitrous every 5 seconds...ya thats him.

I swear he said only a 75 shot, so I was gonna call bs right there, but I didnt want to start an arguement with a stranger.

I know of this kid... He is always out in New Bedford trying to get kids to race him. He doesn't have an LT4, just an LT1 with the loud mouth exhaust and the well known nitrous kit. The 1/4 mile time seems fishy, but he used slicks that time up to the track too which he probably didn't mention.

 

For those track times he would definitley need the 175 shot like my84z said.

 

He could have easily done a 12.2 with a LT1 and 75 shot running slicks.I've run 12.2 at 109mph with a 380hp car.

 

all he has is a cat back man i don't see any lt1 doing that time with just a cat back and nitrous but maybe i am wrong i never seen my lt1 do that anyways and i had every bolt on.

 

My Bad, I forgot the LT1's are short on HP in stock form.(araound 220-250rwhp)

It could of been worse,I had a Cobra guy telling me he ran 11.8's at 120 mph in his stock 96 Cobra.

 

Your right Don, an LT1 could do it. However, it would need serious gear, suspension and an unbelievable hook to make 320-330rwhp fbody run low 12's at 107-109mph. What throws me off is all he has is a catback and supposed 75 shot and trapped 116mph. I hope he wasnt bs'ing, and maybe I miss heard him say 175 shot.
