2004 GTO pics

http://gm.wieck.com/forms/gm/*query?gto&source=all

What do you guys think ?

They shoud have done something with the hood as the nose looks like most Pontiacs currently in production.

Otherwise it should be a decent ride.

Blah, looks like a regular family car. They should have just kept the Camaro's and Firebird's.

Whats the point of designing a whole new car that has the same EXACT drivetrain???

I personally don't think it will sell any better than the F-bodys... Just my opinion

ahhhhh...didn't they just import this car from Austrailia? If they did, they didn't really design much that they didn't already have with Holden.

Although it looks like a riced out 2 door Civic with that spoiler,I wouldn't call it ugly, just rather boring in appearence, not really what I think of when I think GTO either (no ram air hood or 400+ cubic inch engine?????Sounds like a 74 GTO ). I probably wouldn't buy it,but it isn't quite as bad as a Aztek or 2003 Silverado's nose

my buddy and I were talking about this last night when we were watching xXx, they have a featurette about the new GTO on the dvd

I think it looks very similar to the grand am, but of course thats just the exterior..... could be a sleeper for people that don't know about them. Some ricer kid might just think of it as a "hooked up" grand am and then the thing will put a beating on them

Holden has some really nasty cars in their lineup and GM definately needs to start looking over there to see what they should be doing over here, half of their cars come with the LS1 and t-56

definately go check out Holden't website to see what I'm talking about

340hp with the Z06's gearing... its not really a heavy car either. People should post the same numbers with those things as with the ls1 camaros. If the price isnt out of control on the thing, I'd seriously consider one.

If I wanted to fast in a straight line for short money, I would buy a used F-body.

If I want a nice new car with a trunk, actual rear seats, and a car that handles and can handle the potholes well, a GTO would suite me just fine.

The drivetrain is NOT exactly the same as a GTO.

This LS1 will have more power, the tranny has ZO6 tranny guts and the rear end is stronger ring and pinon not to mention it is Independant Rear Suspension.

The car will do very well. What other american car has all that? What car best resembles it? M3 comes to mind.

You have got to be kidding. When I looked at those pics I thought I was looking at a honda with ground effects from the side. But you can't complain about 340hp ls1 6spd, no matter what shell houses it. I'm going to have to wait until I actually see one in person to finalize my opinion, because they always somewhat change from the debut showcases.

I've been watching the Australian V8 Supercars on Speed and the Holden is growing on me. May have to take a look when they come out. Although that SS concept really floats my boat.

People have been saying anywhere between 2005-2008. Its still all just hearsay and rumors. I have heard little things about that neon but from what i've heard so far its sounds like it'll be a quick lil car.

The GTO is not ment to take the f-bodies place. It can't, its in a whole diffrent category....yes the drivetrains might be similar but the GTO is on a whole diffrent body platform with independent rear suspension...GTO and f-bodies have major diffrences....the GTO is suposed to be a roomy, luxurious, 2 door sports car, F-bodies on the other hand are not supose to be designed to ride nice and not supose to feel comfertble in the back seat. The GTO and the fbodies are in two diffrent classes..so the GTO is not replacing the F-body by anymeans...the camaro and firebird will return its just that now they have to re-design a whole new platform becuase the aging f-body platform was not suitible enough to pass 2003 crash test standards and GM didn't have another platform ready to go just yet so they had no choice but to axe the f-body. Plus GM wanted to get out of Canada, another reason why the St. Therese assembaly plant was closed. so it'll be while but sooner or later GM will have a platform ready...hopefully sigma

Good point Bob.

I just don't see how this will sell any better than the Fbody's.

Hopefully it is a really nice car with alot of room for potential
