2003 East Coast F-body Nationals
hey gang,
i jsut wanted to let everyone know that we have a date for teh '03 east coast nats. it will be held on august 23, 2003. it is a saturday a.m. program as it has been in teh past.
for those of you not familiar with the nats, it is an event we started runnign at e-town 3 years ago. so far it has been a drag racing and small car show event with soem great vendors and very good prizes.
this year we are lookin to blow the roof off the place. we are working on the return of the chassis dyno, bracket and heads up drag racing, at least 4 car show classes, and a newly added autocross is in the works.
we will also be posting up our new web site with in teh next few weeks.
we have already secured goodie bags to give otu to teh first 500 cars through teh gates courtesy of year one. we expect to have the bags full of special event only offers from our vendors and prize sponsors.
all gens are welcome, any trim, any f-body, and enthusiast. all you need is a willingness to have a good time and enough energy to have soem good summer fun for about 8 hours.
stay tuned, there is a lot more coming

Cool! I didn't go last year, my car was blown up. I went to the pontiac show and go, which was what killed it. I will try to go there next year for this event; it will be good to do something like this before I go back to school
With this event being on a Sat and also running a bracket program during it, will the muffler rule be relaxed so that those of us running Bullets or open headers on our race Camaros be allowed to participate? I'd be plenty interested in attending if this is done for the event.
i don't have a show car or anything. i would just want to go to look at the races and other's cars. is there a cost? what are the approximate hours of the show? what is the exact location? could someone give me directions or would want to do a caravan type of deal from the Worc. County area??

considering it's only november...almost december there is plenty of time before this all happens. By then i might at least have some mods done
hopefully!!! anyways....no need to rush any of the details. is there a web site for it or anything like that? im curious and hope that i'll be able to make it.

thanks for all teh interest guys.
mod313: teh muffler rule, 95db limit, will be in effect. unless your car is really radical you can prolly make it in. when i had headers, no cat, adn a borla adjustable cat back with no exhaust going through teh muffler i passed teh db test by a lot, teh result was only a 82 or 83 or soemthing.
jcb890: teh track hasn't let us know what the costs are gonna be for spectators yet. teh last 2 years it has been 25 to participate and 10 to watch, i am gonna push them to keep it the same, but i don't know yet. teh car show and racing will run from 9am to about 3:00 or 3:30, after taht we will have trophy presentations and give out the prizes. it is being held and englishtown, nj. i forget their web site, i think it is www.thedrags.com if you wanna see directions and info about the facility.
it is early, but when you are on my end of these thing it doesn't look like much. lol
the first year i ran the show we got our date in january, we trhought we had all the time in teh world, then we hardly got anythign we had in midn done...lol
it is definately fun adn worth all teh effort though.
thanks for your interest guys, spread the word.

Can't do it then if there will still be a muff rule in effect. It fails on 2 counts, db limit and they're bullets; and no- I will not have a system built just for 1 event being this is used strictly for drags. If you can, try to get them to lift the rule for the special event. You might get a broader range of cars if you can get them to grant it.
mod313: unfortunately it is more of a problem with teh surrounding community than with the track. the peopel who run teh track love fast cars and dont' really care how loud they are, but as it goes so often, a bunch of dumb a$$e$ build houses right next to a drag strip and then act all offended and annoyed when they hear cars running down the track. they only get a certain number of days that they are allowed to make all teh noise they want all weekend and they generally save that for the nhra matco supernats and the night of thrills. hopefully you will be able to come to spectate or to help some of your friends who are racing.
tnthub: we have little/no information on how much of what we will have to give away this year. in the past it has only been prizes, mostly gift certificates from interenet known performance places. this is the first year we are aggressively pursuing the idea of getting a real prize fund for our heads up class. hopefuly we can get soemoen to jump on boad and we can really make something of it.
thanks for the interest guys.
