Congrats man. Did you spend more time installing it or making that website?

Defintely installing it! The web site is more to help others. There's nothing out there on installing a Zex kit on an F-body.

The install went amazingly well until I got to the fuel pump, it was dark by the time I tackled that, and I don't have a garage, so that took forever...but I wanted to get it done that night.

Once I cut into the fuel lines and spliced into the stock fuel pump wiring there was no going back! Also knowing that if I screwed up, my car would not run for work in the morning, so that didn't help =o). But it all worked out.

Im curious why you chose to run a 1100 PSI steel braided line INSIDE the car, I also didnt notice anywhere that you fastened it down. When you arm the nitrous there is 1100 PSI in that line and it will want to " Jump" when pressure is applied. Also your ZEX controller is attatched via 2 small black plastic ties?? that is also subject to 1100 PSI. I would presonally feel afraid that its not fasteened down properly and damage something. And as also said abovethe bottle would fit better if it were layed down at he proper angle, altho this would not provide any benefit other than that. I ran my nitrous line under the car inside the frame and bolted the solenoids down under the K&N CAI. Whenever I arm the bottle I notice the line sends a " JOLT " thru it, so becareful please. OTherwise your going to love your BOttle!!! I have smoked a few cars otehrwise out of my leauge with it. I would recomend you NOT attempt to take on a Z06 vette. A stock one gave me a hurtin by about 2 car lengths up to 100 MPH.

TriPin - how did a Z06 beat you if you're armed with a 383 and N2O?

Yeah...How? My friend Craig got a 2002 ZO6, totally stock(its leased, lol). With my old motor and 125shot...I was able to put about 2-3 cars ON HIM to 110 or so(end of my 4th). We have only raced 3 times...I have beat him every time by that distance. Your car must not be running right, or his was modded.

That was on my STOCK LT1 motor and 125HP of nitrous. sorry for the confusion. I currently have a 383 stroker with a 200 HP dry shot. not even a modded Z06 can touch me now

Hi Guys, just got back from a long 4th vacation!!

I was actually going to lay it down, but one of the brackets provided by ZEX fits my spare tire hole brackets perfectly, so I decided to stand it up. You can mount the bottle standing up, but you have to point the bottle the other way because of the pickup tube. I am going to experiment both ways. Right now I'm not interested in the hardest "hit", which is why I'm also not going with a purge (to purge when I'm done, I just close the bottle and do another run). The car has a stock transmission so the plan is to only use it from a roll, which is the only time I need it anyway. I can hang with an LS1 from a dead stop pretty well due to the torque LT1's have and 17" 275/40 ZR tires all around. It's when I start to get up to freeway speeds that they pull on me (This is before the nitrous of course ). So anyway, because of the stock transmission, I'm just trying to be careful.

Because of the way it's installed, I haven't experienced any line jolts at all, it's just a straight shot from the bottle to the engine bay with a slight bend at the grommet and another to the ZEX NMU, which is wedged between the A.I.R. unit snuggly, so it's not going anywhere.

I'm already used to the 100 shot, thinking about stepping up to the 125 as my daily driver shot now instead of just for the track or special occasions . But I don't want anything to go wrong so I haven't done it yet.

To anyone who has been contemplating Nitrous, don't do it, it's too addicting!

as Black said, you dont have to lay the bottle down. Look at a LOT of the NMCA/NMRA fast nitrous cars, they have the bottles standing up,easier to get in/out.

As far as the line under the carpet,i have mine there, and never have a problem with it wanting to "jump". And i have opened the bottle with 1100psi and the line doesnt move much at all.

This probably doesnt help you much...but, I got pic of my bottle, etc on my website in the spare tire space. I found a piece of board and used it as a mount for the bottle brackets. Then I just drilled a few(just long enough) screws through the board, into the car bottom. Worked out good. Now, I just need to refinish it and make it look really nice...should have done that a while ago.

About the timing retard....Im not really sure what way is best. I wouldnt mess with the TPS line, myself. Just use the arming switch 12v i guess. Do you have a window switch? If so, then the zex kit isnt getting power anyhow unless its in its window of operation. So, hooking it to the 12v TO the NMU wouldnt retard anything unless your spraying.

FWIW...If your car is running good, you shouldnt need to pull any timing anyhow for a zex dry shot. I have logged my car with autotap and got 0retard with all shots, 75, 100, 125 and that was with an extra degree added in high MAP values.
