Will this hold?

Stock bottom end LT1 with 70k miles on it. Putting a cam in and possibly heads but at least cometics with ARP head bolts and want to spray a 150 shot on top. Who thinks it will hold?

Re: Will this hold?

There are a few guys running 200 shots on stock bottoms.

It's always a crap shoot of course. You sometimes wont know if you have a weak spot until it's too late, but the main thing is to stay out of detonation. That, and cross your fingers.

Yeah I'm hoping I can make 550 on the stock bottom end. If I don't get heads I'll be around 500ish which should hold.

Re: Will this hold?

The general nitrous rule for max shot is half the HP of the engine.

If your LT-1 makes 275 HP...you should only run a 137 HP shot. I think this is why so many people use the 125 HP kits. I know a bunch of people spray as much much as 250 shot but I don't think they care about damaging their LT-1.

I think you'll be fine with the 150 shot as long as you R/R the injectors and upgrade the fuel pump and plugs.

I too think you'll be okay on a 150 shot, as long as the fuel/tune are good. A progressive controller could help you take some of the shock of the hit off too.

I think putting in cometics and ARP head bolts will be a big benefit. How strong are the rod bolts?
