Question Will changing to a cooler spark plug effect NA power?

I know if you run any kind of nitrous are you suppose to run a cooler plug. My question is when your not on the juice does the cooler spark plug weaken NA performance?

Thanks

When I switched to autolite 104 (1 step colder I belive) I did lose a little bit of mpg but performance seemed to be unchanged.

I've run my best NA time so far on Autolite 103's. They are 2 heat ranges cooler. No drivability issues either.

Re: Will changing to a cooler spark plug effect NA power?

I run TR6's at .050" in my 11.9:1 solid roller 396. Ran the same plug on the bottle as well.

Went and got dyno tuned (by a good tuner) and he was able to run upto 44 degrees of timing in my motor... with no knock or detonation. And that is with 91 octane California gas. We backed it back down to 38*, but still.

So I tried to "heat" the cylinders up some by going down to a TR55 gapped at .050" and I lost 12 rwhp.

Put the TR6's back in and gained the power back.
