Walbro 255 pump: Is it big enough?

Hi all,

I've got a NX wet kit here that's been sitting around my garage for a few years, and I'm thinking that since I now have enough tire and axle under the car, that I might want to install it on my car.

Currently, I have a Minirammed 385 with Accel 30 lb injectors, and it dynos at 396 RWHP at about 6000 RPM. At WOT, it hits about 85% duty cycle on the injectors at an unknown fuel pressure. The pump itself is a Walbro 255 in-tank with 3/8 hard fuel lines for supply and return. The pump is wired to a dedicated circuit with 12 gage power and ground wires and a good 30-amp relay.

Battery voltage under load is a solid 14 volts, and I made sure to silver-solder the ground leads on the fuel sender to ensure that there was good ground and power all the way through to the pump.

I've got a FAST XFI ECM in the car that will handle an increase in the duty cycle for doing dry nitrous injection, but for now, since I'm already close to the top on the injector duty cycle, I may just shoot a wet shot into the plenum, and use the XFI for nitrous enable and ignition retard.

If I source my nitrous fuel from the schrader valve on the fuel rail, will there be enough fuel from the Walbro to handle a 150 shot? I'm already at, ?what? about 460(ish) HP at the crankshaft, and a 150 shot means the fuel requirement would be in the neighborhood of 600 crank HP, about 490 RWHP. Is a Walbro 255 capable of supplying that type of fuel?

No fuel supply issues with my 4th Gen setup: 255 lph Walbro feeding a supercharged, NX wet setup making 593 rwhp through the stock fuel lines.

a walbro 255 and a dedicated wiring harness will support 6-650whp on average. You should be fine to spray 150. But always verify fuel pressure and A/F ratio.
