Re: trying to get into 12's

I would look into a wet kit, ignitoin box (mallory 685), fuel pressure safety switch, window switch, bottle heater, and colder plugs. Between the kit, ignition, and the safety stuff your going to spend around $1000 for everything brand new. The mallory box can be used as an ignition, window switch and can retard the timing so your taking care of three things with one unit.

Re: trying to get into 12's

I think a 100 shot wet or dry kit will get you in the 12s your motor will handle it. You could probably get away with running race gas to help prevent detonation if you don't want to buy an ignition with retard capabilities. I think a good wet kit for $400 would be suitable + window switch $80+ colder sparkplugs. Check out

Thumbs up Re: trying to get into 12's

I think nitrous will easily put you in the 12's. When I first put my "wet" kit on, I dropped from a 13.40 @ 101 to a 12.20 @ 112. That was with the 125 jets. I have a "the nitrous works" plate kit. It goes between the throttle body and the intake manifold.
It sprays nitrous and fuel at the same time through the spray bars.
I chose the digital 6 ignition box, by msd. It sounds very similar to the malory. The msd is aprox. 280-300 dollars last I knew. One more item you may want to consider, is to upgrade the fuel pump. You can get an in tank replacment for around 100 bucks.

Re: trying to get into 12's

For someone who acts like he knows 9834710 times more than me in Track Kills, you sure posted some stupid questions. If you really have been working on cars since you were 12, like you say you did, you should at least know what detonation is. And you for sure, are a rice boy at heart. Too much too fast and too furious for you kid. You needs NAWS ... Too bad its called a Nitrous Kit. NOS is only a name brand. That would be like getting on here and saying " I heard moroso will make my car fast."

So self-proclaimed car genoius, Feel free to ask more stupid questions and then BASH EVERY OTHER PERSON in Track Kills that doesnt get on their knees for you.
