For those running 250+
What plugs and gaps are you running for what size shot above 250?
How much timing are you pulling?
If it's a direct port fogger, what brand and what fuel pressure and pill combo?
Thanks

Re: For those running 250+
we are running a 100 shot but we have shot a 250 before and we have stayed with a set of autolite 103s and they were gapped at .035 but we cut the straps off at the corner of the bend and measured there so the n2o would not blow the spark out like it has done on bigger shots
as for timing we run 38 on motor and pull 2* for every 50hp so we only pull 4*
on the 250hp we actually only pulled 8* but the car only went 150 ft
but the 60' was great (1.39) but we have not tried it agian...YET!

Re: For those running 250+
well, i have sprayed 300 and above many times. all i will say is call the manufacturer, they will give you very safe settings you can use to start your tuning from. doing 1/8th passes/ shutting down reading plugs, etc. that is the best data to gather when varying from your base tune. i follow N.O.S's recommendations to a tee, NO shortcuts!
sorry but what makes mine go faster may not work as well on another motor. or could hurt somebody else stuff! my tuneups are SUPER safe, not too safe but i definitely sacrifice a bit of power for longevity. i would guess my 300 shot may only be 260 - 270rwhp, or so to the wheels.
Flow: NOS recommends 5 psi on a low pressure system
3 steps colder for a plug on a 250 hit
2 per 50 hp is a good safe amount of timing to retard.
jets are squared on my kit, but that is what is recommended for my kit.
0.035" gap
g'luck and happy spraying

Re: For those running 250+
That's important to point out. My timing curve - in fact the complete tune - is the result of approx. 40 engine dyno and chassis dyno pulls, plus some plug reading at the track, and the expertise of one of the best dry nitrous shops around, Second Street Speed. When you start diddling around with a 250-300 shot, you need to proceed with extreme caution. A also didn't mention that it is a specific tune for a specfic fuel, and doing something as simple as changing to a bottle with a different valve type, or altering the fittings in the system can throw it off - perhaps in a dangerous direction.
Re: For those running 250+
I have been running a 200 shot through a fogger with my stock shortblock for awhile now. I use R42LTS6 AC delcos, I used the autolite 103s once and melted 3 of them but Im not sure if that was caused by me popping a headgasket too that run. I usually bump it back a safe 8-10 degrees on the Timing ****. I run 110 in the tank and 110 in the cell. I will also change my plugs every 2-3 runs and I rarely drive the car on the street anymore.
Right now I am putting a progressive on it and I am going to shoot 300 to it and roll it in about 4 seconds starting at 66%.
