Man I'm spraying a NX 175 shot on my 75k mile stock shortblock. So I'd say you can go higher than a 75 shot. My buddy sprays a 75 shot on his 4 cyl. Civic.

im not forged, im hyper, but he said more than 75 will burn a hole, i thought if you set it up right it wont damage the pistons, only if you loose fuel pressure and stuff. i thought the main dangeer was goin beyond what the bottom end can handle

Your right. With a proper setup I don't see why you couldn't do a 150 shot or possibly more.

Hey 96 Yenko, I read something on a post the other day about different company's that sell Nitrous systems. It stated that {as an example} Nitrous Work's 100 H.P system puts out 125 H.P where as N.O.S 100 H.P system actually puts out 100H.P. Here again I just pulled these figures out of the 'air'. I don't remember which company's were under rated and which weren't and I don't remember if the 'spread' was 25 H.P/50 H.P or what but you might want to do a search and check. This could have something to do with the Summit guys anwser {or then again may be he just doesn't know what he's talking about? or may be the post I read was B*** S***?} but you might want to check as we certainly don't want to leave any H.P on the 'table', so to speak, do we? Bill....

.... Oh, I had an N.O.S 125 horse power system {plate system with a T.B}on an '84 305 Camaro with no problems but when I switched to the 150 jets it blew . I was running colder plugs, a 1 gallon fuel cell with race fuel and a blue fuel pump for the nitrous supply so lack of fuel wasn't the problem and retarded timing. hummm, did I do a {sad face}when I said the motor blew? Because after it blew I put a 415 small block in it and if it didn't blow I might NOT have done the 415, so may be I should put a HAPPY FACE when I said it blew????

....your right that "nitrous and supidity" don't mix, but then again sometimes S*** just 'happens' when using the juice.... bill...

Ps, but remember if your motor blows it'll give you an excuse to build a bigger one

Asking Summit's "techs" for advice might just be the worst thing you could ever do. Apparantly, "tech" is a word given out a little too freely.

In regards to your motor, I wouldn't hesitate to drop a 150 shot then tweak up from there.

I agree. I love Summit and ordering parts from them, but their technical section is just crap. I asked them questions about a 383 stroker and I got some really whacked out responses.

First off u must asses any weak point in your cars driveline, make sure new plugs are swapped i think its 2 degrees per 100 hp, make sure to upgrade the fuel pump for added security, also a progressive timer is a good way to save an engine, Nitrous comes on in intervals instead of bam 150 or bam Blown Engine, also helps to not shock the car as much. MAKE SURE OPTI works great, if it shows its *** ENGINE CAN GO BUH BYE. Also u will need a window switch for arming to be safe(along with some sort of power up switch) And put on a FP switch to ,make sure nitrous will stop flowing if FP Drops for any reason.... You should make u sure u have at least 94octane then some if poss.
If all these things are accounted for NITROUS IS AWESOME POWER
Good Luck

The reason that Summit said that has to do with liability.

The advice they give you is conservative because that way you are less likely to break things and blame them.

Of course, there are also idiots who work there, but I'm talking abut the ones who actually do know what they are talking about.

Yeah, they also told me that 2200 would be perfect for street use and that the 3000 stall I wanted would be overkill and the car wouldn't run right.
