Stocker drops a 10.24!

I took out "Barney" the purple (my daughters and I decided to paint it purple) LT1 this weekend and was rewarded with a 10.24 @ 130.9 mph. As a backup pass Barney went 10.28 @ 130.x mph.

This is my 55k mile junkard motor that is a cammed up LT1 on spray. Everything is stock in this motor except the cam. I ported the heads at home and reassembled the motor with all parts being reused.

Last weekend this motor went 10.44 and 10.33.

Thanks guys, here are the details on the nitrous setup.

I'm using two kits, both homemade. One is a 150 shot the other is an .0295 jet. The total pickup should be 190 hp. Bottle weight-loss wise I'm not using quite that much. Pickup wise I show about 178 hp (116.5 mph motor/131.9 mph on spray). I spray both kits out of the box at WOT. I over inflate the slicks, do a very lite burnout, keep the nitrous bottle cold, and go with no-purge to keep the stock rear end together, a 3.73 gear in seven-five incher.

The car is pretty plain, headers, homemade ram air, and all else is stock. Like I said, I did port the heads and rework some of the other internal engine components.

Awesome results Andy. I thought the same when I read about your car in GMHTP, and it was slower then.

Are you pulling any timing? What octane?

What's your 60' on that 7.5 rear? Any mods to it? Stock axles? I assume you still have an auto trans?

Thanks for any info!

I forgot to mention the TH350 trans and 2500 stall.

Absolutely, but I've been more aggressive with this setup. I pull 6 degrees and let the computer pull what it needs-stock knock retard program. I regularly see 10-12 degrees retard in the logs. Additionally, I run 50/50 110 and 93 octane mix.

I've really been struggling with the tune this year. The leaded fuel and open headers is hard on O2s. I've had to shut the car off after the burnout so I could go back to open loop before staging and making the run. I think all that is about to change as I found and fixed a header leak tonight.

I've been running 1.4X 60 footers. With the quickest at 1.43, but like I said previously, I try to avoid the hard launches.

Wow, 60s in the 1.4s simply amazing on the 10-bolt. But your whole car is pretty amazing. Great results!

I would like to see what you could do with a H+C setup and a 250 DP kit.... considering what you can do with a pretty much stock car and a 175 shot.

I've added a relay to my enrichment solenoid that didn't come on. I was losing over 2 volts at the solenoid. That'll help me tune it. If I can get it back to .900s on the O2s it'll run quicker.

I'm going to shoot for the 9.90s this Friday.

If I leave a little harder that would be good to.

I was over at a Division 5 IHRA Pro Am race this weekend. Now there are some guys who can wring out a combination. I talked to a couple of guys, couldn't get to everyone. But, some of these cars are leaving at 5,000+ RPM..wouldn't that be fun and make for some better ETs.
