this thread is intresting, due to the fact i just tried to get a good pass on nitrous for the second time..... my first time the converter went out and i was unable to get it done... this time i switched from a vigilante to an art carr and same thing happened the converter went out.. on the first time with spray... my mph was 120. so seeing that u hit those times also got me intrested. mine has LE1.5 setup and all the goodies lloyd asks for... thanks for posting this up man and congrats on ur times..josh

great times!! makes me sick to my stomach though to think i have a mild cam 355 on a 300 shot and i only run 11.5 but it gives me hope that it can go alot faster if i get the stock gear out of it!! congrats on the times!!
Thanks. For certain the 3.73 over the 2.73 was worth a couple tenths. Hey what's the MPH on something like that?

Thanks snotgreen!

Eats up a lot of cash keeping up on the old 4L60E. My stocker gave out after a 12.2X pass. I should have taken it out before it broke and sold it. The Turbo 350 is worth a couple tenths and is a lot easier on the wallet...unless you drive a ton of miles everyday. I love it! That 120mph should get you down the 1320 in grand style once you iron out the trans!

i have a 3600 Vig but i got it fully loaded with baloon plates and all, never had a problem yet. but on the top end ive trapped as high as 128, and i cut 1.5 60's even pulled the wheels at pinks all out. hopefully the new motor and a new gear will carry me into the 9's on stock suspension and the 10 bolt ( i want to prove the 10 bolt can go 9's)

I'm sure the stock suspension will get you there, however, the stock 10 bolt will most likely not. I'm aware of at least one car diping way into the 10's on a modified 10 bolt, but that's it. You'd be the first - good luck. You must have some sort of progressive nitrous control or a window switch? You're going to need about 135 mph to run 9s. The whole thing makes me wish we had cable or dish!!! Pinks, sweeeeet!

i run the mallory 685 plus a MSD window switch on a 2 stage 125 1st 175 2nd. i figure if i can pull the wheels on a 10 bolt with nothing done to it but a TA cover, i can put some ARP hardware in there and brace everything and dip some 9's. now im not saying itll do this a million times but im saying i can get a 9 on a 10 bolt and have it hold.

Same here about the 10 bolt, but I'll be happy with a second slower. A high ten on the stock shortblock, trans, and rearend is my goal and certainly within reach.
Andy, as mentioned, awesome 1/8 mile times.

That's about what I thought. Excellent setup, definately saves parts. Staging and delays are key to keeping the drivetrain in one piece. I run the nitrous solenoids under the driver seat for the same reason (softens the hit as it takes a while to cool the lines and get maximum power). Although, I turn on both kits at the starting line; you have to to get the car to ET. I did a similar thing on my other car - ran a steel line in a location that gathers heat. The heat slows the tire spinning initial hit. You might give it some consideration. It's also less expensive. The more power you can apply as quickly as possible the quicker you are going to ET.

I also have the TA cover; good piece. You may want to look at some of the ideas guys have with braces that prevent axle tubes from bending (like the back brace a lot of fast guys run on a Ford 9"). I hope you go 9s it it'll give me some hope. Cost effictive rear end is my next big hurdle.

Z-RATED94 - I think you'll get there. Hey we plan to head to 41 on Sunday, bring her down! I'll be driving the video camera only.

Thanks Andy, but the car is put away for the winter. Iv'e got the new cover and parts to brace the rearend, which will be put on in the spring. Then it's time to try for the 10 second run.

Congrats Andy, I knew you would get into the 10's if you kept trying. I am trying to get there on motor this weekend and plan on trying the n2o for the first time since I changed alot of stuff, (suspension, gears, cam etc..) so well see soon. Back when I had the stock 10bolt under my car it ran a best of 1.51 60', 6.53@106mph 1/8th, 10.23@133mph, with stock 3.42's in it and I ended up pulling it out b/c I was worried about it coming apart and crashing my car. Goodluck Later Clint

Thanks.

That makes at least two 7.5 inchers way into the 10s, cool. Hopefully, mine will make three.

Wow, your spanking the quarter mile. What's the weight and converter?

I put a new motor in and have been tuning. Check out "Barney."

I started tuning at a dissapointing 106 mph and have it up to 112 mph, all in stock exhaust-manifold, muffled, heavy street trim. I'm shooting for 11.80@119 with this stock head cam combo. Then I'll spray from there. Pretty soon I'm going to have to tune between snow falls.

Pm me if need be please, thanks.

Hey there, congrats on the 10's Andy. I have not installed my headers yet because of that article in GMHTP. I've had them on the shelf for over a year. I'm VERY inspired by you and your car. Gonna keep going down with the #'s before I put the headers on. I also have a n2o kit sittin there and it's gonna get used some time also. Gonna try to get a 12.5 with the manifolds thru suspension and weight reduction before adding power. Keep it up. Peace

just thought i would post up about another 10 bolt(times in sig) that has held up well to some abuse. like stated earlier if you launch it fairly easy they do a lot better. also i think the key must be to have a spare rear in the garage and a truck and trailer lol.

Andy, good camera work. Was the 95 on the rev limiter? Was that a perfect light I saw too? One last question, you guys wearing snow suits, longjohns or what? I like good air, but damn that looked cold.
