stock 3.8 with nitrous

Ok, so I raced a Z28 and got my *** handed to me. it was a 93 LT1. So.......this further influenced me to get nitrous on my car. I have no idea what I am doing, but I really want to do this. this is what I need to know:
1. What kit can I get that is made for a stock 3.8L? I really cant afford to change anything out, such as fuel pump or anything like that.
2. Which set up would work best in my situation, a wet or dry shot?
3. How much is this going to cost me?
4. What kind of differences will I notice?
5. How much should I plan on spending to get it professionally installed the right way?
6. Where do you get your nitrous filled at?
7. What is the best way to spray it? A window switch or manual button?
8. Anything else I should know?

I hope you guys can help me. I dont know much about nitrous, but its something I hope to do this winter while my car is just sittin in the garage. Thanks for the help fellas!

1) With a V6, you'll be running a small shot, 75 tops I'd guess. So even with a wet kit, you might not need an aftermarket fuel pump. Maybe injectors for the dry kit, luckily those are much easier. Not sure...

2) For a simple and easy kit, not much nitrous, dry would probably be an OK choice. Wet kits are better though, more reliable, better for big power.

4) You'll notice alot more torque! And some more HP too. I know a guy with a '00 V6 Mustang, has a dry kit on it with a "60 shot". Comparing slips, my 1/4 ETs were better than his by a second, but he had 1 mph on me for traps. He can't spray until 2nd gear, loss of traction in 1st on the spray.

I raced him from a 40 roll, and he beat me by a car or two. Later on, he dyno'd... 270 rwhp 375 lbs/tq, that TQ is why he pulled me at the start of every gear. He gained 120 rwhp over NA, so that "60 shot" was a bit off. He was also running lean. Since then he's put in a smaller jet.

5) Professionally installed? I wouldn't do that. That's what these boards are for. Or friends, find someone that knows nitrous. A dry kit should be fairly easy to setup.

7) Both. The window switch is for safety, so even if you screw up and accidentally bump something and try to spray while shifting, or at idle... it won't spray. A WOT switch would be good as well, it will only spray when you're at full throttle. And the manual switch is for you, so you can decide.

Don't forget about other accessories too, like a bottle heater, blow down tube, purge, gauges, etc. You can get by without some things, so maybe add as you go along. Plan on spending at least $200 or so on those after you get the kit, which should be under $500.

8) I don't have nitrous or anything, but I've researched it and that's what I'd do in your situation.

I also think if you are going to keep the shot fairly small you should be fine with a stock fuel pump and ignition. I would change the plugs to a one step colder nonplatinum plug. A 75 shot should be very safe and reliable. The import guys spray more on V6's and I think it is definately possible but tune carefully if you want more. I definately like the wet kits more but of course I am not an impartial judge since I am a Warehouse Distributor for NX. You will feel a very large difference when on the bottle. You will be hooked as soon as you spray it once! All NX systems come with a WOT micro switch and the window swtch is a good idea for safety concerns. I have systems for your car in stock and I can make youa very good deal on a new NX system. Let me know if I can help. Thanks
