Sprayed a small TNT shot, dyno results
Well I finally dynoed on the jug..its been on for like 6 months and I just now got around to it. LOL. Added race gas(c16) and didn't adjust my tune so NA hp was down alittle. Did 422/403. I was going safe on the spray so I had the 100 fuel pills in and the 75 nitrous pills in. I pulled 4 deg out with the digital box and set my window switch to 4000-6800. First pull shot the wide band out the exhaust even with it clamped and taped to the floor..so we shut it down at about 5500. Sencond pull after securing the wide band better it made 502 rwhp and 535 rwtp(at 4000). So 80 rwhp, and 135 ft lbs on a 75 shot pulling 4 deg of timing I was happy. Air fuel was good..started out alittle lean at 13:1 then droped to around 11.8 - 12:1 at around 4800 so we jsut left it alone and headed to the track. Nothing spactacular to tell about. NA runs was 11.20 at 123 in our hot humid summer weather here in Louisiana..about 2800 DA. Sprayed it and lets just say that with 500 rwhp and a 4.71 gear in a 6 speed stuff happens QUICK. I was walking it out of the hole..boggin it and it was bucking on the recovery..at 4000(around 40 ft out) things happened quick. It recovered so well that I almost matched my full throttle NA launches. Short shifted 2nd, 3rd poped out of gear at around 5500..way before the 8th, so I stuck it in gear and let it eat in 4th. The only cool thing about this run since I did EVERYTHING wrong, is I picked up 32 mph on the top 8th mile while I was picking up 26 NA. Second run, did things alittle better...1st was the same with the boggin and jerking untill the nitrous hit, caried 2nd out to 6700, carried 3rd and 4th out. It was over WAY before I hit the 1000 ft mark so I just lifted and didn't pop it out of gear so the moto was pulling me down. Went 11.0 at 114..lol. Oh well...I guess everyone was right that less gear with nitrous and let it eat..hehehe. I knew I was going to run out of gear very very early when i was crossing at 6900 NA..oh well. Anyway I had fun and sorry for the long rant.

well, I'm still a NA guy and the car will stay set up for that. Maybe after the new heads and stuff I will pick up a new 3rd member for the rear end and put some 4.10s or 4.30s in it. For now..I'm just playing with it .heheheheh.
Re: Sprayed a small TNT shot, dyno results
LOL...yea. I usually do pretty good running 10s NA in a 6 speed. But adding 80 more rwhp changed things alot. With one more outting I would have it figured out since I only sprayed 2 out of 5 runs that night.
Re: Sprayed a small TNT shot, dyno results
Yeah well ill be spraying a 150 shot for the first time friday on street tires so i probably wont be able to talk

Yea...I either go to NPR or hattisburg. Mostly NPR. That track has claimed many rear ends...its a killer. I go a good bit in cooler weather, I just don't like sweating that much this time of year. Helmet, fire jacket, etc. make for a sweat box in our 100 deg heat.
Re: Sprayed a small TNT shot, dyno results
Thats awsome, your car is bad ***.
I can't imagine how fast things are happening in your car because I know with a 100 shot and only hitting 440rwhp I'm shifting like a mad man.
The nitrous makes the engine wind up so much faster.
Thats why right now I can't imagine spraying on my new engine.

With a tnt kits most people in fl are use 150 nitrous and 100 to get near 12 to 1 air fuel because they run so rich. I have never heard of a tnt kit having to do that and I have installed 11 of there kits on 4th gens. I hope you dont have a fuel problem or supply problem.
By the way LT1's seem to love spray more than others.

Re: Sprayed a small TNT shot, dyno results
That was true for the TNT kit on my car.
I'm getting ready to try the 75 fuel and the 150 nitrous because it was very rich even with the 100 fuel on the dyno

Re: Sprayed a small TNT shot, dyno results
I have a 255 intank pump, stock lines and 30 lb injectors. My fuel pressure stayed rock solid through the whole run. The run actually started out alittle lean..13:1 ish then richened up to 12:1 from about 5500 rpms up. This is the second car local that we did this too..running a bigger fuel jet to make it safer. I could only imagine that with a 150 nitrous and 100 fuel that I would get a nice hole in my pistons from running way lean.
Just adding the timing back in I think I could get close to 100 rwhp on a 75 nitrous jet...but why push it. I set the car up to run NA and use this for fun.
Iwill be dropping my gear for my new setup anyway but with the new NA hp I will still be way short on gear to spray it the full 1/4. Oh well...its still fun.

Re: Sprayed a small TNT shot, dyno results
I understand what your saying but of the 11 6 have been on the dyno and all 6 ran rich. Mine and a few others are so rich that they didnt show up on the scale. I even went to a different shop to compare and had the same #'s. I know all cars wont allways work the same but yours seems to way lean. This is not ment to be a flame, just wandering with your set up why so lean compared to others.
