somewhat new to nitrous

I put a nitrous works plate kit on my car last year and never really messed with it much after that. I have a 1994 Z-28, 355 with a small cam, promags,lt's, etc...... I tried to search for this info in this forum without much luck.

I was wondering what options I have for gauges. I have 4 an lines on both the nitrous and fuel side, but I can't seem to sort out for sure what fittings and hoses I will need to do what I want to do. I need a fuel gauge with a 4 an manifold, but instead of screwing the gauge directly into the manifold I would like to put it on a short fuel line so I can move it around, or even tape it to the window if I want. It isn't something I want to leave on the car, and I do not want it in the car so an electrical setup with a sending unit isn't for me (unless the pricing is similar, or it is just easier). I just want to verify where the fuel pressure is at wot, and wot while spraying. Do all the F.I. gauges fit the test port on lt1's? Will the manifold clear the area below the windshield wipers or do I need an elbow or something to get it to face horizontally instead of vertically? I am pretty sure the manifolds have an inlet for fuel, an outlet for the gauge, and an outlet for the fuel solenoid, is this correct?

On the nitrous side, I have a gauge on the bottle. Problem is, I can't see it because my bottle is mounted in the spare tire well, and it faces the quarter panel. What can I do to get another gauge out where I can see it so I know where my bottle pressure is at? I am getting a bottle heater too, so I probably want to know where the pressure is at Can you get sending units for this one too for a dash mount?

I know this is probably simple stuff for you guys, but take it easy on me. NPT and AN fittings confuse me. I can put it together, I just need to make sure I get the right stuff the first time. Maybe one of our sponsors will chime in with a complete solution and I'll make a purchase

Not really sure what your options are for the guages on the intake, but there are nitrous pressure guages sold to put in a pillar or wherever you wish to mount it. I belive they run 60-100 bucks. My bottle is not mounted, I just let it lay behind the driver seat so I can open it at any time. It was better than the $250 for a remote opener. I can just look back to see what the pressure is. I always have to wrap the bottle up in a coat or jacket when I go to the track because it is obviously not mounted to IHRA/NHRA specification. The warmer was a good decision, and prbably the best money spent as far as nitrous goes. Bottle pressure is EVERYTHING with nitrous. Before I had a warmer my 150 shot would feel like a 50 shot when the bottle got half empty. Now I can maintain 1200 PSI all the way through the bottle. I accidently left the warmer on too long once at the track once and had a guage pegger with only 2lbs in the bottle. I DO NOT recccomend spraying with much over 1200 PSI. The hit will be insane, but that's one way to break stuff with it.
