What about timing retard? I know that you need "some" retard with NOS. But the LT4 module takes it out and then adds it back. Isnt this dangerous?

Cool

Oh hell he is about to spray it.

Whats up man I really don't no what to tell you cause my motor is on the stand becuase of the spray. But I think I did some really stupid things like running the Hypertech PP3, no timing retard, and had the SLP AIT in there by accident. Car was smoking really bad on topend(3000- 6000 rpms). My car was probally running way lean and way to much timing. I would def. run some autolite 103's though.

Hey Jason,
Well with what you said, I am going to get a LT1 KM and put it back in so it can pull enough timing out! I will only get to spray it, if the guy gets it hooked up this week while its sitting up there!

If you use the KM to pull timing the damage well already be done. Get a aftermarket box, like a digital6 and pull the timing BEFORE you spray.

I am not doubting what you say by no means. However, if it will damage the engine without a digital 6, or any other method to MANUALLY pull timing out, then how have nitrous systems existed so long and done so well before these digital systems existed????? I think there are alot of variables to creating damage using nitrous.

I would leave the KM, I have a buddy that has been spraying with his for almost 2 years now and no problems....just don't go over 175HP with stock timing and pump gas....I would run some autolite 104's or 103's and invest in some sort of aftermarket ignition (i.e. MSD, Jacobs)

(my car has seen a 250 NX wet....)STILL TOGETHER!

Good luck,
-Scooba

Hey Jeff, what's up? This Brad with the Purple Z-28. I have been thinking of Gassing my Z too. Just need the money first...lol . Are you ever come back out to any of the get togethers? Some of us are going to the Cooper River Friday. You're more than welcome to come out and have some fun. Also have you got your Z fixed yet, because I saw it at the hobby shop here on base for a while.

detination kills motors, thats a fact. if you rely on your KM to pull timing detination has already occured. yes it will help prevent more knock, but its still a band aid. 3 safty devices

high octane gas
cold plugs
retarded timimg
