Should i even consider n2o?

I have a 97 z28 with roughly 115k miles on it. It runs pretty good and has some upgrades. I really don't race but I do like working on cars an upgrading them. Well, my dad said he'll get me a nitrous kit just so we can put it on the car (He always wanted to have a setup as a kid but it was really expensive and rare back then). I am a little worried that my engine might not hold up well with the n2o. I am worried about my engine blowing since it is older and has many miles on it.

What do you guys think, should I get a kit or will it kill my engine/ rest of my car. I wouldn't use it excessively but it would definentally be cool to have. What kind of shot do you recommend and should i get wet or dry?

Also, since i care about engine longevity are there any tips you can recommend for me to make sure the least wear is put on and are there any good kits specifically for my car that would have most everything i need?

Also, just wondering, does nitrous make fire come out of your mufflers at all?

run a wet system, get all the safety features (do a search, tons of info) and keep the jet sizes moderate.

I sprayed a stock 305 w/137k miles with a 130ish shot and had no issues with it.

no nitrous does not make fire come out the mufflers unless there is a problem.

Yes fire does come out of the mufflers.

How else do you think the stuff would work?

I hope that is a bad attempt at being witty.

My 96 has 125k on it and I have run close to a 100 wet shot all summer with no trouble. Like stated above make sure you have all the safety switches and you should be fine. Also a cai kit will help too.
