is this setup safe/worthwhile?
hey guys,
i currently have a 396 lt1 w/ a fully forged eagle/srp rotating assembly, stock casting heads fully ported w/2.00/1.56, gm 847, lt's walbro 255 intank pump, 42# injectors. i am currently planning on using the nx kit w/ the shark nozzle in the intake, and plan on spraying around a 175 shot. i was wondering what is the max i'd be able to spray as far as jets/shot. im pretty sure that my engine combo will be able to withstand the shot, but i think i remember reading that this nx kit will flow a 200 shot? can you clarify this. feel free to add coments or your opinions as to what would be the best way to go about feeding my motor w/ a big shot.

Re: is this setup safe/worthwhile?
The nx 20920 kit will flow 200 shot without any problems.....
As far as your setup goes, I'd spray it with 175 shot all day, and not worry about mechanical failure... (as long as the fuel and nitrous mix is tuned correctly.) Typically off the shelf forged pistons can handle up to 300 shot, but I've thrown more at them....
When you get up around 200-250 and above then you need to gap the piston rings a little wider, but at your level, you should be good to go...

Re: is this setup safe/worthwhile?
ok wonderful, i wont need to upgrade any of the lines to the solenoids or anything? also i plan on using the mallory 685 ignition box w/ the built in window switch. is it really an important requirment to have a fpss? thanks. how do you think this thing will run w/ say a 175 shot? taking down it put around 425/430 rwhp/rwtq. number wise/1/4mile wise. its backed by a 6 speed and a 12 bolt- w/ 4.30's and et streets.
thanks,
Nick
