rev limiter 1996 trans am

I have searched and cannot find is the rev limiter in a 96 model trans am a4 set at 5800rpm or not?

thanks a bunch, im trying to figure out where to set my window switch for the nitrous i am about to install.

5800 is correct. u can go to 6200 though. or atleast i did. some will say higher. but yes 58k is stock rev.

But you cant do that on the spray, or your gonna blow your motor. It cuts fuel, not spark.

thats exactly why i bought the mallory 685

But that isnt going to do you any good. If you dont have the stock PCM reprogrammed, it still is going to cut fuel at 5800 RPM's. You have to set your 685's rev limiter a hair below the stock one, so say 5700-5800, and the window switch keep close to this, that way it doenst cut out on you too soon.

The Mallory will pull spark, not fuel. So if the PCM is pulling fuel at 5800, and your Mallory is pulling spark at 6000, your going to have serious issues if you hit the stock fuel restricted rev limiter.

ANd where did you mount your 685?
