Questions about Adding Nitrous

Okay here is the deal, I have forever wanted to add nitrous to my car, however i have always been scared away from it with Horror stories of how someone blew up their engine using Nitrous.. So my question is how reliable will my engine be with nitrous. Its not a daily driver, its more of my play car so it will get used probably eveytime I drive it. Also how much should I add... 50, 75, 100, etc...

Re: Questions about Adding Nitrous

i was spraying a 150 shot for about 6 months and it was just fine. The engine will be just as reliable w or w/o nitrous. The nitrous isnt on all the time (unless you get addicted like I did) so there isnt always stress on the motor. Just make sure to do it safe (FPSS, Window Switch, Fuel pump). I actually had a nitrous backfire in mine and it fried the MAF but that was it. It won't BLOW up your motor. I think that would only happen if you were running like a 300 shot.

Re: Questions about Adding Nitrous

You’re going to want a set of colder plugs along with a bottle heater if you want consistent power (it'll maintain the bottle pressure at it's optional pressure). For the safety stuff, look into a fuel pressure safety switch along with a window switch. With the proper safety items you'll find that the bottle is a very safe power adder.
