People that have used Compucar bag of Nitrous?
People that have used Compucar bag of Nitrous?
I'm thinking of buying this sneaky kit but wanted to find out pro's and con's of people that used it. I don't do any drag strip racing or much of any street racing. The car is lucky to see 3000 miles a year. I'm just looking for that security blanket of maybe 40 or 50 hp. Probably actually use it a handful of times a year. I don't really want to get into reprogramming for nitrous or adding a new fuel pump. Can I run a 40 or 50 dry shot in this instance fine? I like the $350 price tag.

If you are truly being honest with yourself in saying "your only gonna jet a 50 shot, and not spray it much, then you should be fine.
NOTE: whatever you do, do not activate that system below 3,000RPM. It will cost you big money with what you have to replace.
i have used it for a while, real killer kit in my opinion, just make sure you spray before the maf, and go 1 heat range colder plug, and like the other guy said, dont spray unless you're above 3000 rpm, real easy to hook up, start with the smallest jet and work your way up to see how your car reacts, i was plenty happy with just the v6 jet, it gave my car a nice kick in the *** and it knocked 7 tenths off my 1/4 mile time, have fun!!!!!
I used it for awhile, but sold it to a Mustang guy after running many bottles through.
Contrary to popular belief, the LT1 maf and pcm DOES compensate for the N20 with additional fuel. A few precautions:
-Spray the nitrous well ahead of the maf and not directly at the wires. Bounce the spray off a wall in you air intake system. Because nitrous directly on the maf wire will freeze and overload the maf.
-Compucar provides a selection of jets. The smallest being what they call their "Safe for 4-cylinder" jet rated at 20 HP. However, I dropped 8 tenths and gained 8 mph in the quartermile with that jet. It is more like an 80 HP jet. I also tried the "small 6-cylinder," 40 HP jet and dropped 1.2 seconds and gained 12-13 mph. So it was more like an 120 HP shot.
-Don't go above the 40 HP jet, because with it my injectors were at 100% duty cycle and I had to raise my fuel pressure 10 psi to compensate. The stock 24 pound LT1 injectors simply will not compensate for any more nitrous. You should be very safe with the "4-cylinder" jet.
Good luck, don't spray under 3000 rpm, go a step colder with the spark plugs and always run good gas.

Thanks, for all the info. I have platnium AC plugs in now, which I heard is bad, not sure what happens to them. I was going to throw NGK's in. I believe 55's is what I remember people going with. I'll probably use the second smallest jet.
