Options for retarding timing with nitrous

I know most of you guys like the Mallory 685, but what other options are out there? It looks like if you already have an MSD 6a, 6al, etc... you can add an adjustable timing retard module to it.
I have a new Mallory 6A (virtually the same as MSD) sitting in my garage that I could use to start with.

Thanks,
Rob

You would be better off selling it and getting a 685. It has everything you need in one box.

I got my Mallory box from Summit for around 220 at the time. Also, if you add the cost of the MSD box and timing retard box together, it will be well over the cost of the Mallory box and you still would have to pick up a window switch as well, which the Mallory also has as a built in feature.

The 685 really is the cheap way out. I don't understand why everyone runing nitrous (or boost) isn't running one.

But all it does is retard timing right?
For $70 more with the 685 you get:
Rev limiter
2-step
Window switch
start retard

The Crane TRC-1 is listed for Ford's and Honda's. I could not dig up much info on it.

The 685 is a good box for someone who needs something that can do it all. But may not be right for other end users. It will all depend on what the needs of the customer are.

If you already have an ignition box most companies have an add on retard module.

I am running the MSD Digital 6 and a progressive controller. The 685 would not be right for my application as I needed a box that could control multiple stages and give me delay and ramp abilities.

Since you already have the Mallory 6A, I would consider the FJO mini progressive controller: http://www.nitrousoutlet.com/catalog...product_id=952
