I was wondering if I could get some opinions on NOS products. Does this company actually make good gear or have they turned into something for the F&F crowd?

 

Get you a NX system.Better quality parts and the solenoids have a lifetime warrenty..

Nitrous Oxide Systems makes excelent products.

 

I agree with 25th, my NOS parts have worked flawlessly, so have my brother's.

 

I had 2 NOS nitrous solenoids go bad in one season (one stuck OPEN!!), and they only have a one year warranty... Forever they were the only nitrous company, so they didn't have any reason to try and make their products better.. Nitrous express is always searching for new technology, and is defintely on the cutting-edge. You can tell by just holding a NX solenoid in one hand, and a NOS solenoid in the other..... The quality just by looking at them is enough to change a persons mind in itself....

And the fast and the furious line of nitrous is manufactured by NX... It's the same stuff, just with different colors and decals.

 

That may have been true in the past, but that is definitely not true now. NOS has come out with some of the best new innovations in nitrous in the past few years, it's hard not to consider them still the best in the business. Although I have not had personal experience with NX, I have both TNT and NOS products, and NOS is clearly superior to TNT.

 

Actually SBC, I learned at PRI that both companies use the same supplier for many of their solenoids. They use different coil covers, and NX has their logo engraved in the base, but that just adds cost. So it appears your one in one hand vs one in the other quality theory is out the window. They are the same damn thing.

 

I'm speaking from personal experience on the NOS stuff... I haven't owned a NOS kit in about a year, so if they changed their solenoids to the style that NX has always run, then that says something about NOS... Also, if they are the exact same solenoid, why doesn't NOS warranty them for life (like NX does), instead of for just a year???? It's all fords and chevy's here.... Which one is better?? It's obviously personal opinion... I've ran nitrous on a lot of vehicles, and I'll stand behind Nitrous Express.

 

Im sorry to tell you that you are wrong.NOS and NX use two different solenoid manafctures.Trust me all we do is nitrous.WE know where everything comes from and who makes it.
Nos yes has been around for along time but when holley bought it they got confurtable.Its all old school technology.The newest technology and best parts on the market it today is hands down NX.Yes this is my personal opinion but there is a lot of knowledge behind it.

Im not saying anyone elses is junk.Im just saying on my car I run the best!!!!

I agree with MEAN_SBC... NOS is lucky they have their name and history. If NOS was to jump into the nitrous world now, with the components they use, they wouldnt stand a chance.

I made the mistake of purchasing a NOS kit vs a NX kit on my last car.... I had a NOS nitrous solenoid seize shut the first time out to the track after only a couple passes. NOS noids are nothing but paper weighs in comparrison to NX noids.

The only kit Id use now-a-days is NX.

why not just dish out the extra few hundred bucks and get a venom kit? its practically dumbass proof if hooked up correctly.

 

Because some people can save the few hundred bucks and hook everything up themselves. Not sure about solenoids (I've never used anything but NX solenoids), but most of the bottles for ALL the companies come from a few distributors. Some just have a fancy paintjob or better valves and siphon tubes. The only places I get nitrous stuff from is Cold Fusion and some NX.

I've always wondered, since all they used in TFATF2 was NX, why didn't they call it "NIX"?

 

The Venom kit is a joke.... Ive used one before. The safety features on it failed the first time I went out and used the kit.

I would do NOS before a Venom kit.

Lets talk about jets, it cost thousands of dollars to build the tool to have our logo and jet number on every jet we sell. The customer will know if it is an NX jet or just a knock off. Several companies keep stating they have the same quality as NX, that is a compliment to me. They are trying to raise there status buy mentioning NX, but they do not stand behind there products like we do. NX has had more parts copied or knockoffed by the other guys. NX is the best,for several reasons. More new products then all other companies combined over the last 6 years, the people who work for NX care about the end user and their satisfaction with the parts, Warrany best in the industry. List of new parts: remote bottle opener, SX2 nozzle, Std nozzle, phase three plate, jet wrech, ntercooler kit,GM MAF kit, 5.0 Plate kits, new phase three billet plate, billet y fittings, filter screens in the nitrous solenoids, 4.6 Plate kit, NXL systems, Intergrated fuel rail and solenoid packages, packaging to make sure you get your part intact. This is just a handful. NX is the best period.....
